Yeah I know what you mean spacers come in 1/2" increments & are much cheaper than shorties are , or the alternative of reglassing & moving everything up ect... I am in the process of deciding exactlly were I want to set my X at & I am like you I would rather be a tad high than to low however just right would be nice to hit the first time out...:D I will most likely end up around 17 1/2" but thats not set in stone just yet... Not sure what you have in mind for props but I will be staying away from the 5 blades due to the fact that I will already have the XR stressed a bit harder than I would like.
