Default Thanks Charlie.

Photo 1 shows the 34 foot Gone Bananas carrying both of our brands, Coyote and Banana. Photo 2 shows the 38 foot Top Banana winning the Bushmills race in California.

You can see the foundation of the Sonic lines in both hull and deck.
Thanks Charlie for clarifying. So while at the same time being splashes, the early Sonic's were Coyote/Banana splits (pun intended).

Default 4 foot not 1 foot.

Ed - Yep, Charlie clarified that the 33 Banana, the 34 Coyote, and several Sonics were pulled from the 38 Banana/Coyote mold. Pretty cool to finally know the entire story! Barry

Oh yeah, the top of their race boat is 'splashed' from a C-5 Corvette.

Why not, the C5 corvette is very nicely styled.

That badboy does look like a cig .

The first Arnowow boat was the formula 23. I believe is was penned by Jim Wynne, Walt Walters? or Harry Schoell.

It's my suspicion that Aronow didn't pen any of his boats himself. However, he excelled at execution, and business strategy, i.e. stretch, scale, reuse, sign a non compete agreement, reuse, etc.

New laws (as of the late 90's I believe) make it illegal to "Splash", meaning making a mold out of someone elses hull. Reverse engineering is different than "splashing".

This is why some companies have found their nutts in a ringer when caught splashing someone elses boat.

The 35' Marlin is a splash of the old 36' Cigarette and the 33' Cigarette is the 36' with a stopper in the mold. I believe Cigarette made 12 back in the 80s to comply with a ruling to fit into an overseas racing class.

Ed,

I always enjoy reading your post and appreciate you sharing your knowledge.

Confirm the following for me if you can and if true maybe you can tell me if Cig did market a boat from this mold and what it was.

I have been told by many that the mold my boat came from was first built by Cigarette. Then it was sold to Force 10 and then went to Baja and became the 36 Outlaw.

Thank you
Dock

The Allison's are 22 degree. However, you won't find a better rough water 20' V-Bottom that will run over a 100.
