Also look at the speeds at the shootout. Bud Select MTI ran how fast. How much faster did the bigger Mysitc with the same power run? Also how much smoother was the run? You can push the Mystic faster because it is a more stable platform, not only becasue of the size, but also the design. It is engineered to run extreme speeds. Also look at the construction. I do not know exactly how the MTI's are built, but the Mystic is extremely high end with materials and construction process for a very similar price. So in conclusion it is a better design and a better built boat then anything out there for a similar price. That is why everyone is switching over. Bud, cintron, geico and probably the class one guys soon. There is even a rumor of a certain other new 50' cat that is being traded in on one as a poker runner.
Lost, fun thread, Like Scotty B said we plan on running both boats next year as 113. Utilising each boats best charateristics for course and water conditions. Really putting on a show for the fans. Just because a boat is leading doesn't mean it will take the flag at the end of the race. You have to finish to win. That said, chasing a longer boat running too hard in big seas at our speeds is a futile cause not to mention the equipment wont last as orange beach proved. Also the "smaller more powerful" MTI weighs 3000lbs more than the Bud boat. The Big question??? What will Bud Select bring out to race our MTI in LOTO? That will give you the answer to your questions. We really enjoy racing our MTI and are equally excited about our new Cosker Mystic. Racing with the Cintron and Bud guys..just a whole lot of excitment. The back stretch at LOTO should be insane between these two boats. |
