I have a friend looking to get into a 32. He has had a couple of west coast cats but asked me how the 32 would handle compared to my boat, since he has ridden with me. I told him I had no idea.:angry-smiley-044: Anyone had seat time in some of the DW outboard boats, and how does it compare to a 40 Skater?:readinghelp:

A 40 Skater is a tough comparison, a 32 Skater would make a better this or that.

He's looking at a inboard version.

Tell your friend to pick up September edition of Hot Boat Magazine. There is a four page write up on the Doug Wright boats.
I know the 32 outboard has been kicking ass on SBI Circuit.
My husband wants to trade his boat for a DW Inboard.
They are making inboards available in different sizes.
Definately worth a look at. Similar to MTI design.

Grants Cusyom Rigging just finished one up with Bravos and 525s. Call Grant and he can explain to you why it was a 9.9 on the scale 1 to 10. 35 pitch Bravo with a 3.5 gear ratio on the limiters, you do the math. The MPH and how the boat handles was outstanding as well as the time it took to get there. If your gonna have one done, looks to me Grants the go to guy. It's nice to see Doug and Grant took the doubt out of people wondering if the 32 with inboards will work.

You have seen it, and if your buddie is even considering the one in the classifieds, through SC performance do it quick. We have someone intrested looking at it on Friday and if he doesn't buy it I'm finishing it and the price will be up at least 75k.

hi i'm the owner of the 32 doug wright with the 525's here in miami. grant did an excellent job with my boat. for those in doubt, first time in the water ran 125 mph. this friday i'm going to try with 6 blade herrings 36 pitch. hopefully i'll be running in the low 130's. keep you posted

Alex, sounds like you Doug and Grant hit a grand slam. I'm in Miami end of next week, if there's any way to view your boat and if you happen to be out in it, a ride would be huge. If possible I'll take care of whatever we need to make that happen. That will probably push me over the edge to finish mine. If not I'd like to get your #, I got a few questions.

lOW 130'SIN A 525 pleasure set up is unbelievable, that speed is close to the full race supercat lights. The perfect package would be the 700/nxt should be in the 150's with that package. Grant is the man to set up the 32's. Wat to go Doug.

You all know what I think.

The boat does everything right! Its fast, well designed, well built and handles the rough.

Ask anybody that saw me running 85mph in 4ft seas at the long labor day poker run.

I had people calling it a "hover craft".

Very fast too.

113 with the 300xs but on the limiters with 34's. More speed with a set of custom 36's as mercury does not make cleavers bigger than 34's.



I know alex's boat is awesome and incredibly fast so either the outboard or I/O package.

Its a custom boat so you will have to be patient.

Nice boat but that trailer should be a high end trailer to compelte the package.

When you see that boat you say wow that thing is incredible. All I meant was the trailer should say the same.

I am not usually a cat fan but this boat could win me over it is sweet. The numbers sure puts me in my place. Enjoy and be safe

What drives do you have? Bling's has #6's?

micheal, the boat's got bravo xr's. i tried the herrings 6 blade today and lost 7 mph. it hit the box at 118 mph with no trim. grant told me to try 5 blades next time. i'll keep you posted.

of course a custom made trailer would look nicer but the 7 grand i saved was put into the boat. anyway miami boat ramps are no place to leave 15k boat trailers all day. just kidding! oh and thanks to all the compliments :)
