Excuse me larrs, but may I chime in on your newbie thread?? I am also new to this site. Sometimes the H.B. drama is too off course. So Hi all, no boat, but I love them, I live in San Diego.

HB has gone nuts lately. I used to post there years ago but now I occationally lurk but seldom post. This site is much better. Do you go to the River / Havasu? Been out ocean boating?

I goof around over there, nothing serious. I come here to get the serious stuff. River yes, Havasu, yes. I do not have a boat, sold it. Never have been in the ocean, I was tempted to go to long beach last weekend and watch the boats for the poker run, and if you will "whore" around for a ride but I lost my nerve, thought It may be in bad taste!

You should have gone! There were plenty of boats and it's usually pretty easy to catch a ride. We did a few runs Saturday afternoon after turning in our cards so people could get rides. Most of us are willing to take someone out who really wants to get out there. (and offering a few bucks for gas doesn't hurt either, although it is usually turned down).
