I am a registered appraiser, but have not used it in years.Ex wife is Certified and has a nice 65% subcontract gig with a large company here in town.Things are sloooww. She was doing 3-5 aday last year, now down to 2 a week .

The company she subcontracts for are the nicest family business you could ever work for. They took a huge hit in the 100s of thousands from mortgage broker companys going bellyup and not paying their appraisal fees even though they already collected them from the customer.Even if you do get some work right now the comps are so old from lack of sales that they are a real pain to appraise.

I ive at the Lake of the Ozarks and am sure there is plenty of work in the area for that kind of thing.

I would go with a generic name. With more of a generic name you will not be limited by just doing appraisals. I now have 4 different companies and I did not follow my advice. It was only after I started this last company was I mad at myself for having specific names. I have a friend that buys just about everything wholesale since no one questions he is in the business of what they are selling.
