yes it is. I had a Scorpion that had the exact problem. A good section of the cabin floor was always soft and flexed a bit. I pulled back the carpet one winter to do the repair and found the wood was dry as a bone and just needed to be capped. The factory only tabbed it and it was not enough to keep it from flexing. Being in the buisness i have seen it several times.

What would I do?.... I can tell ya what I would NOT do and that is come onto a site like this that is trying to help you and lie to us all....:violent-smiley-045::rolleyes:

wow--thanks for the insight, my fiberglass guy has talked to fellow worker who has worked on ALOT of velocity's whom told him "no way should that floor be soft due to factory defect." Guess we'll find out the trutch this week when the carpet comes up. Thanks again

Thanks for your support and opinion--It is not my practice to deliberately bash someone I purchased an item from not knowing the truth behind the story, nor do I attempt to demolish an individuals career choice because of a mistake they made unless they are not willing to make their mistake right. Wet Rat: There are ways to tell your story strait up with out telling us how it was. There have been many accounts were people come on the board and ask for advice and do not divulge the other parties names. The only problem now is that you discredited yourself. So now we have to wonder about this whole story. I am in the same situation as you are so I can relate to what you are going through.

No big deal, I say, let's give the guy a break. So it's wet_rat's boat and not his friend's after all, and it's a Velocity not a Scarab...so what. It's still a shtty situation. I think it's cool that he honorably protected the real seller's identity. Had he come here and straight up ousted the real seller and surveyor, we'd be bashing him for 'bashing' the seller, happens all the time.

The funny thing is, this kind of soft floor was common back around 30 AD. Jesus wasn't a boater, but all of his friends were. Especially Peter. They were sailboaters though, which explained the infrequent showers and all of that wine.
Anyway....
They used to use a trick called "boarding." What they would do is actually go stand on the deck of a boat that they were interested in. There was a lot of ship worms back then, so you didn't want to slap down, say a hundred gold pieces at the boatyard and then find out when you pushed the boat down the hill that it has soft spots.
