I also would like to hear a comparison between Concept and Glasstream. Ride, speeds with same HP, quality of construction, etc.

Talking

After working with bblades with different props..crb76 was able to set his boat up to run 71-72 mph with the 275 Verados.
Loves rough water (specially the mouth of Government Cut)and after passing the Donzis and similar Fountains in the Galveston Bay and Destin Poker Runs with snotty water they all ask "what type boat was that?"
The steps really loosin up the hull and lets them fly!!
I know..I'm a crash dummie for him!!

There were some issues with earlier boats but I have seen Powerplays, Skaters, and MTIs delaminate. On 2005's and newer they changed the lamination process to strengthen the boat. This was mainly around the increase weight of the Verado series of motors. My boat has had no structural issues. It was between that and a concept. The reason I went with Glasstream was that the boat is a complete dry ride even in 10 footers (don’t ask why I went out in that) and has a self bailing hull, wider, faster, and less complicated to maintain. I was also better in rough water in my opinion. The Concept does have a lot more blig, like a Cig, but unnecessary when fishing, diving, and bar hopping for me..

My comment about maintenance is directly applicable to the bling factor. I can't see pulling in a 300lbs Marlin over the carbon fiber back seats a Marine Machine throttles. The side panels in a Concept are so nice and detailed that I would have a hard time caring rods and nets with out being so sensitive to placing them in the rod holders. Since it is a self bailing hull, I can just hose the boat out so easily. It is much easier to keep the boat pristine condition. The Concept on the other hand has a strong niche, but it is more of a bar hopping/ fun runs/ poker run CC vs. practical diving and fishing CC in my opinion. The finishes and bells and whistles are outstanding, but that is why I also have a sport/ hi-performance boat too. What I like about the Glasstream, was how simple they made the boat, but it was also a lot more dressy than a Fountain or a Donzi CC. In my opinion, Glasstream niche is between the concept market and the Donzi/Fountain market. You get the best of both worlds, practical use with great style).

I feel that the bottom line lies in how you are going to use the boat. The technology on the Glasstream hull is also state of the art for the CC category. They run between 8-10% slip on most of their 32’s. That is hooked up!

If the bilge pump quits you may wish you had a self-bailing

Looks like my 33 Outlaw will be totalled so, am looking at a CC for a replacement. Read some good and bad things about the rigging on the Glasstreams. Looking at something 27-33ish give or take a few.

If you want a flashy sporty go-fast style of CC with great looking rigging check out Concept and Carrera. There are a lot of boats like these being built in Florida. If you want faster check out Fountain's CC's.

Doesn't look like it is quite finished.
