Darrel Waltrip ran a chrome car in '97. If I remember correctly, he said it took many individual pieces of chrome film that took many, many hours to apply to the body to make it look seemless.

I have seen a street rod done, however it had a more gold/copper look.

I would have to believe it would be a nitemare to keep clean in saltwater

Guardado recently painted a 50 Cigarette with the chrome paint. Looks like chrome until you clear it, then looks like an aluminum beer can color. They had the factory reps there, they tried many different things, as soon as you clear it it dulls. I must be cleared on a boat. Even though it was not as shiny as chrome it did look cool, I just think for a whole boat, it's too much, touch ups will be a nightmare.

I remember a few years back a company out of CA was selling a multi part system. If I remeber correctly it was VERY expensive !!!! Dave

I think it would be a bit much on a whole boat. If it was an accent stripe that would be cool. Or are you thinking of putting fake chrome bumpers on the Mercedes boat? :p
