Default Digital Inverter Generator

I've noticed that there are alot more digital inverter generators on the market lately. Almost all of them are reporting the same noise level that the Honda make. Anyone have any experience with them? I'm looking for something around 2000w. Do we have anyone who is an importer for these things? Thanks

Just go with the honda. I have one and it works like a charm, I use it in my motorhome so not to use the big gallon an hour gen (honda eu2000 burns @1 gallon in 10-14 hours depending on load)

Use the search section near the top of the page. There has been much discussion on this topic. I have a honda 2000 and love it.

You can't go wrong with the Honda. I was in TSC the other day, and they had a Coleman, Yamaha (I think) and another knock off, all rated at 2000W. I did not start them, but they were all bigger and heavier than the Honda EU2000i. I love my Honda.

The Honda 2000 is a great little inverter generator, and I love mine. It stays on the boat.
I also have a Yahama Eu2800I inverter generator that runs at the same db level and weighs about 8 pounds more. Its physical size is larger, but it has that little extra power that the Honda doesn't have, and I use it with my small RV (runs the big roof air unit with ease). Cost was about the same as my Honda. It also has seen double duty on power outages here at the home (frequent-we live in the stix) when I didn't want to wheel out my big 8500 watt unit. It also has a larger tank than the Honda and the same idle feature at lower power requirements. Both are very good for sensitive electronics.
If you're looking for one strictly for boating, the Honda is the unit to go for, but don't discount the Yamaha if your needs are more than just that one purpose.
Don't skimp on these things- the name brand ones cost more, but they're MUCH quieter and run a lot longer the same fuel.

From what I have heard from the ham radio people, the Yamaha inverter generators create less EMI than the Honda, so if you are running radios, that might be a consideration. The Yamaha EF2000is is heavier than the Honda, but it has more power, and has a bigger engine, which will probably last longer.

I carry Kipor generators. Have had great luck with them. They are very competitively priced too. Check them out.
