5 year membership anniversary.
 

I have been a member of OSO 5 years this week. While the time hasn't all been fun(see my 2x ripped off threads) it has been an experience.

I can count more members here as close friends, than I can count non-members. Even those of you that I can't seem to get along with know that if someone starts shiit with you when I am around you are still my brothers and sisters.

I hope to see most of you in Key West or at more events I attend next year.

OSO - We put the FUN in dysfunctional.

Congrats Cash. I don't think I know anyone else on here that is still boatless and on the dock as long as you have been and still be on a boating site.:rolleyes: But I'm glad you are and glad to have you as a friend.

As for the "never banned" comment, the Board Gods would rather F with me than ban me, as they have shown on multiple occasions.

As for OSO friends, I meant actual people that I hang out with. Mostly locals here in S. Fla , but also my E-Dock family and a few others.

WOW! made me realize how long I've been here now!!! :eek: Hey Audio, Waterfoul, Too Old, Stinson, Charter Members etc etc...should we start planning a 10yr reunion! LOL :D

Wow, yeah, it's over 5 years for me too, probably more like 7-8 because I lurked for a few years before joining.
I've met up with several from here on the board, and they've always been genuine to what I was used to on the board.
Hope to meet up with ya sometime Greg.

I think all this started in 2000, early. I lurked for a while, I didn't even know how to use the site, no idea what I was reading but I had a 33 Donzi and I liked the people. This site taught me how to use a computer, no lie. Like posting pics and links and all that stuff, I had no idea before here. It has also been a daily stop for 7 years, I mean every day....every day....think about it, many times at work then at home. It is addicting. I have had tons of help and given tons of help to many people here. It is a unique site, it seems to have kept its wits and not imploded with trouble makers, not that we haven't had them....:D

Remember when the site was soooo sloooooow at the start..am I correct at 2000? Anyway I wish we could bring up the old format, no banners, no advertisement, if someone saved a thread from that era please post it, it was cool then and sure has changed. I have not heard from Mike (Waterfoul) in a while, he was the one who sent me to this site, I registered and then did nothing, I missed the Charter deal too....because I didn't know what to do, I lost my password and log in stuff and just read a bit and learned. Then the Donzi turned out to be a POS, I had to gut it, from bow eye to transom assembly, it took 100s of hours of grinding, glassing, just short of splitting the deck. All new stringers, bulkheads, floor from the bow to the transom....at least that was solid. A dealer ripped me off with a false survey and since I was new to the go fast (I had 3 boats before) I did not know better. I sued, won, and fixed it. This is it....

Great site with great people to talk with about anything. This site saves me from lots of boring nights in a hotel.

From the headliner to the carpet, all was new, all new seats, even the windsheild.

6 years and 6 Winter Chill-Outs...

YES!!!! However why wait until ten years, why not have one now this year!
It has been 6 years this week from our Chicago D.B.Busters event. That was the best!
I left there and drove cost country to Toronto, Niagra Falls, Buffalo, NYC and Ground Zero :(
then down to Atlantic City, Phily, Washington DC and then home :) That was an awesome trip!
And the Party in Chicago was the start of it!

And i have missed too many of them :(

Sure has been a entertaining trip! Remember the days it first got going, count the post per day on a couple hands? Who was the member back in the early days that wents kinda nuts and ripped into people and just kept doing multiple posts tieing up the threads? He got booted and then got back and repeated? Jeffery had a super vison and Steve and company put the boost to it:D

I have been talking about performance boats on the internet since 1996 back on the usnet newsgroups...rec.boat.power.racing
Some of us like Gordo and Miklos are still around doing the same thing but only on OSO! Back then there was no moderator and things got really silly and heated but we are all still friends. The Miklos, Alweiss, Bob Bull threads were amazing!:ernaehrung004: This place is very very light compared to the chit we use to say to each other.
