As was said already, the used boat market sucks right now and I really don't see it getting any better in the next year or two. Too many contributing factors.

Craig

Craig you ready to talk?

jeff32 01-04-2008 09:07 AM

keep us posted on the discussion!

Dredgeking 01-04-2008 09:07 AM

I sold a 1999 f1 fountain about 4 years ago. Mine had a cabin. It wasn't finished, but the option was there for the next buyer. I sold mine for quite a bit more than you are at now, but I think the selling point was the option of the buyer finishing it.

getchasum111 01-04-2008 10:39 AM

very fair price....just wrong time of year...

Boomer35 01-04-2008 02:22 PM

this one has the cabin area, just needs to be finished

I can't believe that nobody has snatched that boat up. Good luck....maybe it will pick up when tax return time rolls around.

fantastixvoyage 01-04-2008 03:26 PM

Boomer -

Let me know if you want to dump those backseats. Depending on the side support I might be interested.

Also, do you have any interior shops near you? Stop by a factory 29' take pics and measurements and have the seat built cheaper. Just a thought.

I'm very hesitant to convert my phantom over so I am going with a low back seat and a solid fairing to cover the rear seat area when not in use (racing). Should make it dual purpose.

Boomer35 01-04-2008 05:47 PM

thought about doing the seat myself, but i'd rather get rid of it and let the new owner decide

Steve_H 01-04-2008 05:58 PM

STOP LOWERING YOUR PRICE! You're killing me, that's a nice boat and the right price just wait till April.

BraceYourself 01-09-2008 03:05 PM

I agree you really are giving it away... I feel for you...

fantastixvoyage 01-09-2008 03:10 PM

I still think you need to dump those backseats...to me! :D

Boomer35 01-09-2008 03:11 PM

Just signed the X on the new boat, gotta dump this thing, but its hurting me too, ill miss her, especially at that price

formula31 01-09-2008 05:30 PM

Crap, this is nearly exactly what I have been looking for. a single I could go out and beat the crap out of myself and still get at the motor. I have to talk to some of my friends and see if somebody wants to go in it wth me. Im not going to be able to run the twin tank too much next year with fuel the way it is.

Thats the problem right now, I'm not a fountan fan, but nobody can dispute the fact they build a good boat. The problem is there are too many of them for sale right now. Nice looking boat and good luck with getting her gone.

007joe 01-09-2008 06:11 PM

Nice Boat, Not A Fountain Fan Either, But The Price Seems Great Where Were You 8 Months Ago.....

I Agree With Lofty Wait Till March-april And You'll Sell It Right

Good Luck

Boomer35 01-09-2008 06:35 PM

Boomer, sounds like your settling right in down in Jax. New house, a girl friend and now a bigger boat.

Not bad...not bad at all.

Ill be down for the Miami boat show run down to Islamorada. Wanna come down and play with us ??

Boomer35 02-19-2008 08:17 AM

anyone ready for a new boat yet?

apppedigree 02-19-2008 11:33 AM

This boat is solid. It runs through the water great. I have personally seen it run like a scalded dog, being a race boat it will out run any other 29 power for power.

If you are worried about the cabin not being there dont be. They are over rated, its gets hot and uncomfortable quick, I personally have never used mine for anything but storage.

Very clean and strong boat.

320es 02-20-2008 10:00 AM

Are the bulkheads the same under the front as a pleasure 29? Could it be converted?

Boomer35 02-20-2008 01:45 PM

yes, fountain has given me a price to convert the cabin and cockpit with ALL new, and its fair, it coul dbe all done for less that 10k

Boomer35 03-26-2008 12:51 PM

lowered again, new boat is here!! $33,500

F1-00 Racing 03-26-2008 01:25 PM

Boomer,

If I remember right if a racer purchases this boat you had a guy lined up in NC that would chip in a 10,000 sponsorship? Is this still true?

I know the market sucks right now, but heres some simple math: steal the boat from Boomer, get the sponsorship money, go run the OPA triple crown deal that the winner recieves a payout of 10,000 and minus travel expenses you are looking @ paying $13,500 for an awesome boat. It can win up there, I have mine running 80 in 5 ft seas with a top speed of 92.3 yesterday morning. all with a stock 500 EFI. Top speed in Class 5 is 75, it possibly wouldnt win but it will definitly contend.

Someone grab this, cause everytime he lowers the price, it just lowers the value of my boat.

Not that it means much, but I have been around my 29 F1 for 7 years and know how to set it up to race, I will help the new buyer with any setup questions or help testing it. Iwill also give access to any prop or whatever to give you a head start for success. To me, my time is worth money and Boomer is costing me thousands of dollars right now.

Trent

Boomer35 03-26-2008 02:26 PM

yes, as of about a month ago the guy was still very interested to sponsor this boat.... hell if a racer wants it i know a few small guys here locally i could get to throw a couple bones towards sponsorship...... If i had the time i'd race it on my own,

FunHome 03-26-2008 03:53 PM

I think it is a smoking good deal!!! If I didn't already have too many boats, I'd be all over it!!! That thing would be awesome for someone to cruise around their lake and then go tear it up with the OPA gang!!!

Oh come on Brad, you need this boat, its the only boat I know of that can keep up with me in a Class 5 race:hitfan::evilb: You got any other checkered flags you want me to display for you? lol

Trent

nocigarette 03-26-2008 07:50 PM

I am the kind of guy that would buy a boat like this, but in a market like this i would never be able to sell mine....Good luck it sure is nice......I have really been kicking around the idea of racing but i hate to bust up my boat because it is such a classic....

omerta one 03-26-2008 08:30 PM

Think positive...using words like "dump this thing" in the title of the thread don't really contribute to the concept of a trying to sell something that you truly believe to be of value.

niceguy 03-26-2008 09:20 PM

It is definitely a great deal... even spending the money to have the cabin done. But right now the market for expensive toys is crap.... I am basically having to give my race car away right now, cause of this market. But stick to your guns on your bottom dollar.... what goes down will always come back up. Good luck bro.

MANITIE 03-27-2008 12:03 PM

I had a lot easier time selling my 01 F1 Fountain by selling the eninge by itself.....and then the boat....alot of people wanted the 500....and the guys that called me on my boat wanted to put in some big hp.....

Just a thought....

yea, thats a good one... Dump might not be the best word, how about "award"

what other sites should i consider listing this boat on, i have put it on OSO 3 times, and boattrader 3

MANITIE 04-03-2008 09:59 AM

I put mine in the boat trader and had a lot of calls on it....alot of them called from the boat tader putting it on there web site....
and sold my 500 on OSO.....
