We can do the outside of the jacket 1 color and the inside another color, we can also do the piping on the jacket around the sleeves and at the bottom of the jacket in a different color. These jackets are avialible in Gray, Black, Red, Royal blue, Yellow and Orange. Standard sizing is small 30"-36" chest, medium 36"-42" chest, large 42"-48" chest. If you have any questions please contact me at
phone 810-923-8653
email [email protected]

Boomer35 11-15-2007 09:50 AM

can you show me an example of the 2 color with another color on the piping

JIMB 11-15-2007 10:13 AM

Boomer35, I'm sorry I dont have any pictures of this combo.
This is just something that Kent and I have come up with to offer you. I can tell you that the entire outside will be one color and the entire inside if you choose can be a 2nd color, and the piping can also either be the same as the outside or a different color. I have pretty good size pictures on my web site that might make it easier for you to visualize this. Hope this helps Jim

bouyhunter 11-15-2007 10:25 AM

I'm in the market for a pair of vests.
I know everyone swears by Life-lines, but I thought I'd seen somewhere that they are not USCG approved.
Is that true? If so why aren't they?
I've seen comments from the racers that they wouldn't wear anything other than a life-line, What makes them that much better.
I'm just curious.

Scott B 11-15-2007 10:32 AM

The USCG certification procedure is pricey and labor intensive for a small co such as LL.. But, their jackets float my fat butt just as well as ANY CG approved one I have, and better than some. As far as quality of the materials and components, you wont find any better..

Jim, I pinged ya a question via email..

JIMB 11-15-2007 10:48 AM

bouyhunter, That is a very good question about not being USCG approved. Lifeline jackets are not USCG approved because they are custom made, one at a time. Not every jacket they produce is the same. I can tell you that these are the only jackets that I'm aware of that will not come off your body if you are ejected from the boat. And they will turn you face up in the water if you happen to be unconscious.

Boomer35 11-15-2007 12:40 PM

JimB- understand it now, i will get ahold of you this weekend or monday,

JIMB 11-15-2007 01:05 PM

Thanks Boomer35 I look forward to talking to you.

That's what I'd heard, and I know everyone swears by them.
I have limited space for storage in my boat, and I'm only gonna wear a vest when I'm running hard (but lanyard all the time).
Does the CG/water patrol give you any hassle if you have these on board if inspected? I guess what I'm asking is, let's say I have me and the wife, and two guests on board. I have two orange standard issue PFD's for my guests, and I have two lifelines for me and the wife. Although I'm technically not compliant, (No Cert on the LL jackets) am I gonna run into a PITA with the fish cops?
Let me say, I'm just asking questions. I understand this is probably the best way to save your life in a bad situation, But in a normal day boating with no unexpected occurrences, if I'm boarded am I gonna run into problems with the fish cops?

JIMB 11-15-2007 01:51 PM

bouyhunter, I have never heard of any problems with any type of law enforcement concerning the use or having Lifeline jackets aboard as PFDs.

freshwaterfiend 11-15-2007 03:31 PM

I'm in for at least 2 probably more.

Canadian Coast Guard regs are more strict than US regs - you must have a CCG vest for every person on board - and at last summer's poker run they didn't even raise an eyebrow.

Just FYI.

bouyhunter 11-15-2007 04:47 PM

I need to scrape together a couple $$ and get in on this buy.
Thanks for the info.

JIMB 11-15-2007 06:20 PM

Chris Sunkin 11-17-2007 01:18 PM

Since every other PFD on the planet is CG ceritfied, I doubt it would even occur to any officer to check for the cert. That is, unless he's a performance boater ;) .

Yeah, but it'd just be my luck to get cited.
I'd rather have my wife and I alive if there were an incident, than to have us checking out Davey Jones locker and be within regulations.

smdude 11-17-2007 03:03 PM

Jim, I'm in for 4, just have to check on colors, and sizes.

Todd, you're right. But there isn't a whole lotta storage in a 24' Pantera.
Fortunately my boat was already converted from a TRS to a Bravo, so I have plenty of space under the hatch now minus the Trans.
I'll be busy building brackets and ways of storing things in the spring.
Maybe when I get her all back together I can invite you out for a run.
I know you're close to this area somewhere.

CigBoat 11-18-2007 03:55 PM

I know about the storage thing. I used to have a 24 baja before the bullet. I would love to check out your boat sometime Byron said it is nice. We live over in Lawrenceburg just across the 275 bridge so if you ever need an extra hand let me know I wouldnt mind running over.

JIMB 11-19-2007 04:57 PM

Do to the positive response that I have received on the Lifeline group buy, And to make it more convenient for you, I have decided to extend my hours until 10:00 PM EST. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. To place an order or if you have any questions please call me. Jim Brown 810-923-8653

Revd Up 11-19-2007 05:26 PM

Got checked out this summer by the USCG on Lake Michigan. The young guy checking me was cool and didn't make an issue of my lifelines not being CG approved. Said his boss, who was checking out another boat ,would be a dik about it. I just keep the cheap orange ones tucked away just in case.

OL40SVX 11-19-2007 05:34 PM

We'll be ordering tomorrow!!

bouyhunter 11-19-2007 06:06 PM
