It's a 2003 35 Fastech, called "Formula for Success."
Any OSO'ers know this guy?

pkspx 11-26-2007 12:30 PM

Every time I get on board my boat, I strap on lanyard!

Strip Poker 388 11-26-2007 12:30 PM

Anybody get any picks of it up the beach?

georges 11-26-2007 12:55 PM

It was a sunny 80+ degrees yesterday and there was a lot of boats/people out.
I can't believe the boat went a mile without hitting anyone!
The "ticket" he got is a joke!:hothead:

fountainracing65 11-26-2007 04:41 PM

more ammo for the goverment to regulate good boaters. Yes, I would also like to thank this dink in advance for my rates being so cheap.

PARADOX 11-26-2007 06:03 PM

I think,,,, note "think". I know that boat and talked to the owner some months ago. It was up for sale. There aren't that many 353's around here. I put in at Tarpon sometimes.
I am courius if it was stored on the racks at Anclote Marine. If it's the same.. ?? When I saw it, it was a mnvsdfgurg junk with one blue motor missing.

Just wondering out loud.

Who cares about the insurance!!! It is the doo gooders that are going to read this and have more fire power to try and take the fun out of boating.

Elite Marine 11-26-2007 06:21 PM

They take away his boat and auction it for charity... dumba$$!

ToTheMax 11-26-2007 09:30 PM

Totally in the wrong hands...and yes this does nothing but bad things for insurance rates :angry-smiley-038:

Forget the funny response, let him apply for insurance (and commit fraud) and turn his azz in to the authorities. I can't stand scumbags!:(

Are you serious, he's asking for a quote a day after his accident?

Send him the picture in my above post, with a quote for the full purchase price of a brand new 35 Fastec. :D

Now that is classic!

On a seperate note.......what if the boat nearly missed someone and they got pissed off and showed up at his house with a shot gun and killed him because they got his address from this article? Is it legal to print a persons name and street address like that? We have means to find out this kind of information but making it public like that, is that ok?

Usually articles will say somethink like "K. Helmintoller of Land O'Lakes, FL"..... but not the dudes address.

Formula Insurance

I'm getting him a quote from BAGHDAD CASUALTY INSURANCE COMPANY with a 110% deductible.

I'm glad you noticed that....first thing I saw, too. Talk about some dredging.

I was wondering the same thing. Must of made one hell of a sound just winding off by itself! I wouldn't want to come up beside it with the motors bouncing off the rev limiters.

Lofty 11-27-2007 12:58 PM

Are we going to see an ad forthis on Coopers?

"Owner only rode in boat for a short time".

Edward R. Cozzi 11-27-2007 01:06 PM

Best argument for Tres Martin's school and wearing the lanyard. Formula not an easy boat to be ejected from. This guy is really an amateur. Who clocked this boat at 90 anyway? Did there just happen to be a cop with his radar gun there? Maybe a little media sensationalism?

My buddy down at Tickfaw came up on the Cig in the trees and shut it off, said it was shooting a pretty good rooster:rolleyes: it was on the rev limiter.

I would guess on a 525efi it would go into gaurdin mode 3500? then run hot and seize?

Does anybody know what would really happen ????

Incredible....just how hard is it to put your lanyard on??? Don't they make wireless one's now? I thought I'd seen one advertised somewhere....

The killer here is he's trying to get insurance now after the fact...lol...not the sharpest pencil in the box...

I keep my boat on that river and frequent Anclote Key as well as 3 rooker. He would have killed someone of it was the weekend. The water is very calm there and the only thing is wakes from fishing charters and large fishing boats. (I have been known to get airborne).

I just got an email from one of my neighbors thinking I might get a kick out of this...Helmintoller is a Vice President for Metlife here in Tampa. Would think someone in the insurance business would know better!
