They make a superior product IMO. Along with the quad, the W305 is also a good choice from Whipple for a big HP motor. Super smooth efi linkage too.
Whipple is a company that has really pushed hard for a long time and it shows in the performance/reliablity of their SC's. If I were you, I would not hesitate to purchase one(or two) Whipple's from your local distributor. Gary Taylor/TPI what kind of power increase would I get upgrading from a 650 hp 509;s with b&m 250 blowers no intercooler to W305r no intercooler . thanks Howard |
And Gary knows!!!
Like I said, he's a knowledgable Whipple source and dealer! |

Hi Gary ,
what kind of power increase would I get upgrading from a 650 hp 509;s with b&m 250 blowers no intercooler to W305r no intercooler . thanks Howard I personally would not put such a big blower on a 509ci motor, but it could be done(seems a little overkill, but it depends on what you are looking to do.) A lot of builders are running 509 cubic inch motors with a good set of cnc heads with a nice camshaft and getting an honest 800HP out of them on 91 octane with Whipple's 200ax blower(rather than the W305). Its a very reliable combination. If you would like, give me a call and/or e-mail me and tell me what you are looking to make power wise and I could try and guide you in the right direction. I will tell you this, with a tall deck 540+ ci engine, its VERY easy to make well over 1000Hp with that W305. I really like it alot. But the low profile design of the quad is hard to beat. Once again, Whipple makes great products. Gary Taylor/TPI (805)480-2693 [email protected] |

Thx Strip :)
How many hours do you have on your 3.3's now ???? Just curious what you think the rebuild interval on the blower is. |

Eaton is now producing Lysholm type blowers. ie with internal compression.
However, AFAIK, they only produce these for the OEM market. Whipple produces for the aftermarket. I'm sure Dustin will be along shortly to clarify this. What is a AFAIK? |
