I was going through my Barrett-Jackson bidders information list and came across this. It is a great boat, but if I was going to spend those kind of dollars, I would not want a paint scheme that draws attention to a waste of a movie.

Wasn't that a 4-Seater?

Sea-Dated 11-29-2007 05:03 PM

No, this one has always been a 5 seater. I think the all white one is a 4 seater. I saw this boat in person at the Shootout and it looks a lot better in person than it does in the pictures.

Sean H 11-29-2007 05:10 PM

both 5 seaters.... they actually had a flat bench seat for the movie crews.... the 3 seats were put in because the steps were already cut out.

RumRunner 11-29-2007 05:31 PM

I thought the "Mojo" boat in the movie was a 4-seater.

Gee guess I wasn't paying too much attention, and I don't want to waste the time of watching it again.

Jigsaw89 11-29-2007 06:48 PM

hunster 11-29-2007 06:55 PM

DirtyMoney 11-29-2007 08:22 PM

Where was it used in the movie if the white one was too?

Panther 11-29-2007 08:32 PM

I saw the movie recently, the uncut version, and I don't recall seeing this boat anywhere in the movie. the Mojo boat in the movie was all white with Mojo on the side. When they drove the boat to Havanna the deck of the boat was white as well.

they painted this one after the movie was over, hence why the movie stills are on the boat.....

The owner wanted a custom paint job, done by Mark Morris @ Visual Imagination. It was used in the movie and it was all white with vinyl. The entire interior is still lying around the shop @ MTI. Little G just traded the boat with a guy who had a killer 40 ft., 850 merc boat.

Yep, both were in the movie. Believe one had the camera equipment AND another steering mechanism bolted to the deck so John Tomlinson could drive it from there to get the shots they needed. Don't think any of that made it into the movie. This boat was painted after (obviously), and I think Randy Scism's brother owned it this summer at LOTO.

Got it. Didn't the boat in the hangar in the movie have a canopy?

it was removable... just a shell that sat down on top to look like the actual CMS boat used in the race scenes.

DirtyMoney 11-29-2007 08:59 PM

ahh behind the scenes.

By the time both seller and buyer get done with that boat at Barrett Jackson assuming it sells, you can imagine the fees and taxes that will be paid on what amounts to be just another MTI.

Knot 4 Me 11-30-2007 09:29 AM

Boat is stunning in person.

i would actually bet that the buyer will get a better deal out of this than buying it on the open market.... i am not sure it will bring the money they were asking when it was for sale much less the new hummer and tilt that comes with it now.

then again, some idiot with too much money may pay a million for it because he liked the tv show..... but i doubt it.

it will be interesting to see what an offshore boat will bring at barrett...

LapseofReason 12-25-2007 04:05 PM

So what boat is this ? and why does it have 575's in it. Was it built out of spare parts or just repowered with something they had.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2006-...QQcmdZViewItem

LapseofReason 12-25-2007 04:16 PM

Looks like the other one in the background, was that the one with all camera crap on it that most likely needed a paint job when done.
