Just like cars and airplanes. It's not the age it's the person. |
Older than Dirt ,,, However ,,, If I had known when I was 35 that I would live to be 65,,, I would have paced myself a little differently !!!!! WWWoooo WWWeee ,, what a ride !!!!! :D:D:cool-smiley-011::drink:
RHC PS: everything ya ever heard about the 60's and 70's ,,,,, its true !!! |
The biggest issue for older boaters is injuries sustained on board or boarding- mostly slip-and-fall.

Frankly, I think a much better question would be:
What minimum age and maturity level should be required prior to allowing a young person to operate a motorized vehicle capable of killing someone? |
My father is 60 and is out every weekend in an 80mph bassboat...I don't see that ending any time soon. We have some 50+, 60+ and a 70+ guy in the area with boats running 70-80mph without issue......hope it's me someday!!!!

Anyone notice the article on "Recycler" in the latest edition of Powerboat? I grew up around Don as he and my Dad are childhood friends. 67 years old and building/running a 3,600 HP cat at 140 MPH. My kind of boater! I hope to still be boating at that age...albeit probably not at 140 MPH!
