I am putting together a team and package to compete in the round Britain Powerboat race summer '08. The race is run in nine legs with the winner being the fastest on total time - the ultimate poker run! This is the first time the race has been run since 1984 and is attracting teams from all round the world.

The Super Class rules state a 40-50ft mono hull with max engine capacity of 23,000 cc and a minimum weight of 4,500 kg.
I would be interested to hear what boat and engine options members would recommend. I want something reliable (has to last nine legs) that will absolutely DESTROY all competitors :-)
Thanks!

Hello kj96 Years ago I was involved in a minor way in a project
boat for a run around the British Is. The boat was a 50ft hull
with 4 Cat motors and was built for the Drambuie company.
The boat was built in Corona CA. USA.
The project Manager and Co-Driver was the Late Eddie Moranz and It completed the run in record time.
I have a VCR tape I made from a number of small tapes of
the building, Testing in SoCal, and the race from a special
program made at the race.
The boat had a bad ending in Miami FL when the truck driver
got the trailer HiCenterd on the railroad tracks behind a boat
yard and while he was trying to get help the boat was hit by
a train, The mold was cut down and made into a 60ft RIB.
Im moving soon SO if you want a copy of the tape let me
know ASAP because most Boat stuff will be packed away.
