My new to me 28 Apache

Well I finally took delivery of my new to me 28 Apache on Tuesday. It was hell trying to get it home and finish all the paperwork, but was well worth the wait. I basically bought this boat over the internet here on OSO sight unseen. It was listed here for about 1 week before I put down the deposit. Previous owners include Powerplaydave, and CFD5. Both were super nice guys and had a ton of info on the boat. She has been very well cared for, even by OSO standards. I'm extremely impressed with the overall condition of this boat. She's a 1990 and in mint condition. This boat was featured in the 1990 Miami boat show and still sports the original paint job. This is the only 28 that came with this particular paint job (or so I'm told) and I plan on keeping it that way because it still shows like new. She's got 454 mag 365hp's rebuilt to 450hp. Total hours on boat are estimated at around 225, with 25hrs on the rebuild. Top speed estimated in the upper 70's. Its a huge step up for me and my fiance. We had a 24 python and this will be our first twin engine boat. Its pretty much been a goal of mine since I was 16 and I first saw Flash Gordon fly across the lake at 170+mph. I saved every penny after I got out of college, roughly 4 years now. It truly is a dream come true and we could not be any more happy. I owe it all to the power of OSO. This site has brought upon a new era in buying boats where you can finally feel educated and comfortable in buying a used boat. Thankyou OSO.

Sorry about the night pics, I'm going to get some more tomorrow.

Thanks. Yes I do have to wait until spring to take her out. BUT I actually like having the extra time to go through it and make sure everything is 100%.

These are the pics featured in the OSO ad

Some more. The red dash played a big part in the purchase. I think it really ties in with the colors. I've never seen a 28 with the red dash. Most are black or white. The pic of the engines do not do it justice. They are like new. The interior is all original. Not bad for a 1990.

Congrat's, enjoy!!!!

Be sure to christen the cabin! ;)

If the boat is rockin on the trailer, don't come a knockin!

I was wondering when you were going to do the unvail- I saw on another post and in your sig you bought it but didn't see the scoop on it yet so figured it was one of them in progress things.

Congrats on your new toy!!!

LOL :grinser010: It was cold outside. They are the original bravos, but the transom assemblies have been replaced.

Very nice! I think that boat came out of this area a few years back? Could be wrong but if it's the same boat I was trying to buy it before it left. Real clean and had some good power in it. You gotta' love the 28! Enjoy.

Sea-Dated 12-21-2007 03:30 PM

OldSchool 12-21-2007 03:35 PM

Dude! Sweet! 12-21-2007 03:45 PM

Congrats Andy! Sorry to lose you to the "other team" :D but looks like a great boat that you'll be very happy with! Dang, I feel like I'm talking to that buddy who FINALLY got laid after needing it so bad all summer! :D :D :D

TexomaPowerboater 12-21-2007 03:53 PM

HaHa. You haven't lost me to the "other team" my ownership of a 28 pantera has merely been delayed. In a perfect worl I would have both and maybe a saber as well.

On another note, there are two local guys with older 80's era 28 pantera's and we are hoping to run them together this summer. Maybe between the three of us and our significant other we can finally put the debate to rest.

You mean this Tim :evilb: I pulled these off of OSO. If it weren't for Tim I probobly would not of got it and it would not be anywhere near the shape it is in now.

I can't wait to see what she does in the rough.

Tony Montana 12-21-2007 04:09 PM
