I get where you're coming from. But look, everyone who got burned by Trick, including vendors, has a right to recover what they can from that sorry outfit.

It isn't "disloyal" to the consumers for Gaffrig to get what it can from Trick, even if it happens to be some half-baked domain name. What, is Gaffrig supposed to receive nothing from Trick in support of consumers? Why?

As the guy who says he knows more but can't talk (which makes me wonder why even say it), there probably is a lot more to this story than we all know. But again, everyone, including the vendors to whom Trick owes money, deserves to recover whatever they can, however they can.

The "guy" was taken almost as bad or more than anyone on this board. Heath's issues with Trick are well documented in other threads.

Gaffrig did not assume Tricks business at all. Mike does not come on OSO. Several of his dealers were concerened and he called us to tell us the situation. I agree they should have cleaned up the site first to not make a bad impression, but it didn't happen. Gaffrig didnt take anyones money.

I wasn't picking on "the guy." Call me crazy, but I just find it somewhat valueless to post "there's more to the story, I know it, but I can't tell it." I'm sure there's more to the story. I'm sure there are a bunch of people who know more but can't tell it. If they all came on here and said, "I know more, but I can't tell it," I'd find it all pretty useless. But that's just me.

As for Gaffrig/Trick relationship as it pertains to the Monster Marine website ... it has been implied throughout this thread that Gaffrig took over the site. Here is text taken from your own post:

"The site was taken over by Gaffrig and is being converted to Monster Marine. It appears that Mike from Gaffrig was screwed too and he was able to get the domain name and site."

Now, if you read my post, I never said anything about payment or "assuming Trick's business." What I said was about vendors "recovering whatever they can," and in this case "whatever" appears to be a web site.

I'm one of the guys who knows more but "cannot" tell. I know because I am one of the unfortunate slobs who got taken for thousands, and I'm suing to recover anything I can. Have you lost anything, or are you just stirring the pot?

Not stirring a thing. Read what I wrote. Read nothing else into it and you'll be fine.

And if being directly affected was a prerequisite to post on a topic posts would be pretty few and far between.

I am sorry for your loss. It sucks. That you were taken by someone you probably trusted probably makes it worse. (Then again, if you didn't trust Trick you probably wouldn't have been taken, so there's the rub.)

What I'm saying is that Trick's vendors got every bit as screwed as Trick's customer, and they have every bit the same right to recover whatever they can.

What I'm also saying, and you can choose to disagree with it, saying "I know more but can't tell," though it might feel good to whoever is saying, doesn't shed light on the subject.

I really don't see how "100-plus" post is stirring anything. I think like he said the people that say "I'm in the know but can't tell" really isn't serving much of a purpose. I hope all the people who are out $$ are able to recover something. Oh, before you ask what I lost I'll tell you....ZERO
