Paradox, now that I think about it, I believe the 33 is made by a different Avanti.

My 27 was made in New Jersey by JET SET MARINE.

I think the 33's were made in Florida

33's are made in NJ, THere is a FLorida Avanti, not the same. Now Egg Harbor owns the name and the molds. EH is making CC from the Avanti hulls.
The Hull I am concidering to be completed is in NJ and by the same guys who built the original Avanti 33's. 27's and some 40something.

Paradox,
Where is the boat and what year is it? I know you had an Avanti but everything Capo said about the molds and the way they used to run their operation is true. Back in the mid 90's I spent some time around the Viking/ Egg Harbor/ Avanti yards and was shocked to see the way Avanti stored molds inside of molds and pieces parts were just all over the place. Not to mention they are very heavy and some porpoise real bad. I think alot depends on the year, who was building it at the time, and luck of the draw.
I also looked at the newer Avanti that was at the Miami boat show two years ago and was far from impressed.

Personally I would look to a manufacturer with a better rep and newer technology.
