Yes, it is for real. Matthew bought the boat from the orig. owner. Price is without power but I think he will sell it with the Sterlings for more. As it says in the ad, only 29 original hours. SICK ride!

As a matter of fact, he bought Big Speed & Little Speed.

Semper Fi 01-01-2008 03:34 PM

WOW! That seems like a bargain!

Lucky Strike Jr. said they might let it go with the existing power. I was just wondering what that was. This would be a great Poker Run boat!

cullen_11 01-02-2008 04:18 PM

29 original hours, but 29 original hours all at about 6000+ rpm's. How many hours til Sterling's need to be "freshened up"?

dykstra 01-02-2008 06:26 PM

awesome boat to say the least!

CAP071 01-02-2008 06:28 PM

I can honestly say I have a ChuBBy looking at that boat. It's without a doubt my favorite boat ever. But I did grow up watcing speed racer every day after school. :evilb:

Now how would you come up with something silly like that ??? 29 hours so that mean 29 at WOT NOT ...If you have'nt figured it out the hour meter is running idling at the dock, marina,no wake zones, and while warming things up .We put 16 whopping hours on the hour meter this year and if we spent a few over 5000 thats it .i would think there good for a 100 hours before refresh, seems Dereberry ,Teague,Boost power all say that:cool-smiley-026:

glassdave 01-02-2008 06:41 PM

besides all that, its not 29 hours on the motors anyway because they are not included with the boat. I'm pretty sure that kinda time on the components is not to bad, pretty sure thats nothin for BPM drives. :D

That boat always one of my favorites. seems like a pretty good price actually.

ThoroughHustler 01-02-2008 07:24 PM

i would imagine that it has to have more hours on it between racing and poker runs

WildWarrior 01-02-2008 07:25 PM

That's an absolutely beautiful boat.

I wonder how the BPM drive rudder boats handle compared to Six drives and what kind of speeds you would see with a pair of 1300s ?

ToTheMax 01-02-2008 07:26 PM

That's going to be a hot buy regardless...Speed Racer movie is coming in May! :cool-smiley-011:

Call Larry Goldman at Xtreme Marine. He has run both set ups at 160+ and call tell you all about them.

I considered a rudder boat at one time. The deal breaker for me was the comments of little to no low speed manuverability. If you are are strictly using the boat for poker runs probably no big deal but if you do some pleasure boating as well might not be the hot ticket. As far as BPM vs. #6 durability no clue!

there were two different boats.

JonMangual 01-03-2008 01:42 PM

PerformanceBoatBrokerage.com has got two Speed Racers. One is a 39 Race and the other is a 44 Poker Run. They both are rigged very nicely and look amazing. From what I can see nothing was missed and everything was done with no expense spared.

If you do the math.....this boat has taken a 20% hit in THREE years. That is stout for a boat.
