Default Vector/Python hulls? Where are the molds now?

What ever happened to The Vector/Python molds? Were they one in the same boat? I know they built a 24, but someone I know is looking at a 30 he says is from them. Did they make a 30 as well?

Python was the Mfg. Vector was the model name.
Do a search here, there is some info, but not alot.
I believe someone in the Chicago area bought the molds after the owner passed away.
There has been rumor of a 30' on the way.

I did search, but came up with conflicting stories about what was what and who was building where and when. Was hoping someone could straighten it all out for me.

The 30 footer is being made at Captain Nabbers in Morris, IL. There was a thread on this a while ago if you can find it...pretty much explained everything.

I had a 92 24 python vector. Its the same boat, not sure why some were named vector, but I've seen 1995-2001 pythons and they are all the same boat/hull. Do a search for Jim Clark I believe.......... He died some time around 2003ish.

The name was bought by straightjacket here on OSO and he is building the 30ft python......or was, not sure if he finished it. Python never made a 30ft, they made a 18, 21, 24, 28, 33

I have a bunch of pics of a Python Vector I almost bought (24/7) about a year ago. I'll post them if you're interested. But, you were asking about a 30', so not sure if it's of any use to you.

Straight Jacket doesn't own the molds...he and his father (Scarrab30) are having Tom Nabbers build the boat...hopefully it will see the water this summer. Twin 720 hp/700 ft/lb naturally aspirated motors w/Konrad drives..it'll be a screamer. Tom does great work...the boat will be awesome.

Never said he owned the molds.......... just that he owns the name.

I say again - Jim never built a 30ft python. Proof is in the pudding http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/s...t=%22python%22 I have seen a 28 and it looked just like a pantera.

Yes, my vector had the windshield.

rbr2328 is the most knowledgable member regarding python boats. I believe he helped Jim build a few.
