Agree. I like things neat and they were up to the task.

Watch for some exciting plans we have for this boat in the days ahead. I will be starting a thread in a few days that will describe our upcoming attempt to set a new speed record from Key West to Cancun and back. It is planned for later this month. Just need to get a bit more break in time on the engines, finish prop selection for maximum cruise speed and we are ready to go.

Try Tony Athens at Seaboard Marine. He is on the wrong side of the country for you but he still has very good prices and has repowered hundreds of boats from gas to diesel.

ok lets talk duty cycle on diesals i think cats are rated 30% that means 3 minits out of 10 at full throttle yanmar is like 100% i think. would like to no about D-Max because a motor that you cant run full throttle all day isnt much good you take cat c16 800 hp is only 600 hp in a truck if you ran it 800 all day it would burn up

#2. Ask for all back service documentation. At a minimum all documents since last overhaul. (Lack of docs good reason to say no. Cause the're hiding something!)
#3. Have the owner take it out for a test run with your tech. Take notes RPM vs Smoke, RPM vs temp, RPM vs Speed, Boost vs rpm etc.
#4. Have you tech run compression check and a fiber optic inspection.
#5. Pull oil samples and have them tested somewhere good.
#6. Look at the area around the exhaust. (Take pictures)
#7. Get serial #s of engines and any service tag info.
In the end your gonna have to decide if it is worth the price PLUS ANY REPAIRS & MAINT.
