Lake Hartwell SC

Are there any bars or restaurant on the water on this lake? What are the names of the marina's on this lake? We maybe moving down there, thank's Steve.

specman 02-09-2008 10:09 AM

steve,
Lake Hartwell is a great place to boat. I believe there are 4 resturants on the lake. All good.
If you come down this way give me a call. We boat there regularly.
There is a poker run there on May, 24th that has 100 plus boats for The meals on wheels charity.
I am headed up there to a friends place tonight.
We need water and warm weather!!!! Ready to boat!!!
John

Nykamp 02-09-2008 10:30 AM

Thank's for the info, I've been down there before but I've never been on the lake. Is there alot of go fast boat that stay thee or are they just there during the poker run?

offshoredrillin 02-09-2008 10:37 AM

cool, thats closer to the chesapeake bay Steve, then you can come play up here and run on the James river in that poker run..Allez Vite will love it!!!

Nykamp 02-09-2008 10:42 AM

Krista has a lead on a job in Virginia also, so we see what happens.

specman 02-09-2008 03:28 PM

There are quite a few performance boats on Hartwell,
at least 6 AO's, a few Fountains, 3 or 4 Eliminators, several Skaters, 1 or 2 DCB's, Talon, liberator , spectre, Baja and I'm sure a few more that I can't think of that are there every weekend at the island.

Steel Outlawed 02-11-2008 07:24 AM

Like specman said there are a few restaurants on the lake. The marinas are Portman, Hartwell, Clemson, and Harborlight 1 and 2. Portman is the only one that doesn’t have vacancies for over nighting. The water is very low right now, but should start coming up in the next few weeks. We boat there every weekend that there is not a poker run or some other kind of run.

I went to college at clemson. Fun town, but yeah, the apache is gonna be big for the lake. And like was said, the water level has been low for a number of years. Watch out for the tree tops!

Nykamp 02-11-2008 09:27 PM

Great lake. Only one problem. No water. It's got to be down 10-12ft. Be nice to let some of the rain they got stay in. This weekend is the Bass Masters Classic. I think it really could be like shooting fish in a barrel.

Steet 02-12-2008 07:18 PM

If you have not found a place yet, I have a nice condo unit on hartwell a block from I-85 for a bargain price. These units are top of the line and very reasonable for the area. They are are the Web as watermarke condos. I can assure you I can give you one heck of a deal. Less than market price

Steve...Do these condo's have docks? I might be interested if they do! What is the price range?

Nykamp 03-23-2008 06:49 PM

How are the water levels doing? Would a bigger Center Console be a good boat for this lake, say a 36 Concept? Thanks for the help, Steve.

specman 03-23-2008 06:55 PM

Hartwell

I just checked and Hartwell is 10 feet low.
It is filling up slowly...
Should have good water for the my poker run. We hope!!!!

If we move we'll be on Lanier from time to time, hanging with my boy Tonto.

Nykamp 04-08-2008 05:08 AM

Does anybody know if anybody is selling nice center consoles on the lake? Thanks, Steve.

Steel Outlawed 04-08-2008 06:25 AM

What brand are you looking for?

No one is selling the big boats, but if you are looking for the 22-28 ft range they're plenty of people selling that size boat.

Plenty of area for your boat. You can ride all day and not run out of places to go.

No problem glad to help. She picked a nice week to be down here. Sunny and 75 degrees.

Let me know if you come down sometime I will be glad to give you a tour of the lake.

Nykamp 04-09-2008 09:35 PM

Thanks for the offer, as I worked outside by the water all day here I was thinking the south thing is looking good. Even chubby guys get cold.

How soon will you be moving? Lake Murray has a rally (poker run) on May 10th. Water's up there. Less than 100 miles from Hartwell. Along with Hartwell, you will be close to several other nice lakes ie. Lanier, Norman, Murray. All have some good people and some nice watering holes.
