Selling Hull vs Complete boat

Hull vs Complete boat
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What is the opinion with sellling an older boat (87' 251 convinsor) as just a hull vs a complete boat? In todays market would it be any easier to sell the hull only and keep my motor? Then sell off the parts on ebay? Just a thought, I have had my boat for sale last year, if I keep the motor I could use it in another project ( 600 plus hp bbc ). Has anyone had any luck that way?

Being that it is older you probably cant get what you want for it. If you want to keep your motor find a used complete motor to swap. Like Tony said it will sell easier if it works.Sadly, its only worth what the book says its worth and doesn't value your motor properly.

Thanks for the reply's. I had it for sale last year, no luck just figured if I got 5k for the hull and trailer, then sold off some of the assorted parts (drive, steering, tabs ...) I would be money ahead. Oh well, anybody want an 80 mph Checkmate 251 for 15k ???
