Default 496HO audible alarms

Batteries are fully charged what would make the alarms ring rapidly and the volts gauge at 0 with the needle looking like a gieger counter. Then I hear this grind (starter?) and it fires right up and ready to rock with volt gauge in the normal position. ANY SUGGESTIONS???

I'd remove and clean all your battery cable connections throughout the system, especially the ground.
