Dave, the boat is absolutely beautiful. I really like the white bottom. Looks like the boat is 40 feet long. I've used the Mobile 1 0W-40 for 97 hours so far. No problems and I sure would stay with it.
Don't sweat the pump. Just enjoy one of the finest boat/engine packages on the planet. Quent |
Beautiful boat, Congrats ! :ernaehrung004:

Thanks for the Kudos guys- excitement doesn't begin to describe how I'm feeling.
Quent- must be deja-vu looking at this rig huh? Thanks for taking the plunge on the color combo first. Yeah it does look long huh? Just friday I snuck out on my 20.8 launched and retrailered it myself 3 minutes each direction- not gonna happen with this thing. My surprise with Ilmor and the Mobil 1 was not the brand (Ive had good luck with Mobil 1) but the weight recommendation was/is a surprise. I thought the high revving 710 would be better off with an oil that had a hot index of 50 rather than 40. As I said earlier I'm not going to "get different" on Ilmors recommendation. Dave, as bad as I hate to say it, the high revving Hondas,( I do not like to say that word), along with some other Asian creations use the same oil. I just want the engine to be happy.
I think that old guys like me have some grandkids who will see a new generation of parameters regarding gofast stuff. Look at the small block Chevrolet from 1955. Its still barely around. Sad. The new "architecture" is just that, new, and I must admit that I do not understand it yet. I always thought that a hot rod was a 55 Chevy. Now it has a turbo and 4 cylinders. I expect that my grandson will do some stuff that I can't even imagine. Hopefully with more grace and less aggravation to his parents than I did. Enjoy your boat. Quent |
WOW- 710 is in what a nice package!

Well you guys were right- Im highly impressed so far.
Jeff tells me Ill be ecstatic when I hit it the first time, and Ill stay ecstatic because this engine does whats asked of it with no drama and doesn't seem to break. Yeah Quent I agree- "hello kitty" may be ok for a bike or a small car, but without turbos 2.0L anything isn't going to move a large boat or "catapult you toward the horizon." Ive had some fun turbocharging a zx1100 but then I nearly killed myself so Im sticking to dirt bikes. Car and boats. Boats coming along......... 710's being slipped in for engine mount tweaking- Not much room left at all maybe an inch forward and backward! Hoping that I really wont need to get in there to do much.
Quent- Here where my muffler journey ended- These are called "Zoomers" Ill shot a pict of the interior next I started with Gibsons, went to Imco Gatlins, went back to CMI- was going to go back to Gibsons and ended up with these ALL SS zero springs or other moving parts. coming along.........
