Pretty much done-

BTW Ive only heard it idle- NICE so far.

Thinking of 5 blade 26-
Or a 54 blade 25

This is a smaller pitch than most guys run , but it ought to really pop in the midrange.

At the slip rate this hull If I can pull 6300 RPM it ought to be around 90.

Well see, Ill start lake testing next week. then when all check out

You guys are right- This is an awesome engine.

Fires up seemingly before a full crank revolution.
Idles like a kitten/Screams like a raped ape.
Mines pretty quiet with the zoomers on it, but its markedly different than a BBC. Its eerily smooth and I never felt a buzz or a thumping anywhere.

The ilmor 710 is the boating equvilant to having Dr. jekyl and Mr. hyde both under the hatch.

We lake tested at Elsinore yesterday and tried 2 different props.

Dr jekyl - The 5 blade 28 was a tiny bit too steep, but still quite workable,

Mr. Hyde- the 4 blade 28 slipped just enough to change the character and allow the boat to really jump when the you put the stick to it.

after about an hour and a half of running and checking under the hatch occasionally and making sure everything was where it should be it was time to let it loose on the tiny lake.

4100 5000 Its really starting to pull....
5000-5500 WOW really pulling hard like a rooster tail growing howl........
5500-6000 PHUCKING MONEY!!!! The Mill impresses- note: I dont impress easily.

The Howl turns into a Scream thats a cross between a BBC and a Ferarri

You and your passengers look like the joker with a smile so big you need plastic surgery to remove it.

We got about 6-6100 out of it swinging a 4 blade labbed 28 with 5 people on board and a little less than half a tank of gas. Right about 90MPH and I sure I can get a MPH or two with me and the GF.

The sound is beyond sweet at high rpm and the torque profile provides a rush on top where the marinized BBC's roll over and die.

Ilmor- you've made a believer out of me and now have a converted happy client.

What an Engine.
