I Said My Last Goodbye Today...
Today I had to make the hardest decision ever in my life.
I had to end the 11 year companionship with Jake who had spent hours upon hours with me in the shop while building the new tooling for the Bullet 130.
Jake was my yellow lab that has always been there through the thick of everything. He would mostly lay next to me while on OSO and now I just feel such a void with him not at my feet.
Jake had just turned 11 this month but it became known last Sept. that he had bone cancer. The most noticeable was his front leg. I saw it start out by growing the size of a golf ball in the matter of one weekend and then suddenly stopped growing. Meanwhile I felt other lumps developing throughout the rest of his body.
I could not see my "Buddy" live with the pain that he was hiding so well. In the last few days I noticed his growns coming on more often and the leg started to grow once again. Yesterday, he was barely able to keep himself up to eat. I knew by this morning I was going to have to put him down.
I wanted the kids and my wife to have one last opportunity to say goodbye, and then it was time...
This had to be the toughest thing I have ever been through. Afterall, he was my 1st kid. I say that because he was breaking me in before I had my daughters. Jake was a huge part of the family and the house is already different with him not being here.
The greeting you always got when you walked through the door whether you were gone for 5 mins or 10 days, he greeted you the same. And usually will always have something in his mouth to bring you. The whining of his excitement to see you is gone. The house is now silent.
I could not bare the thought on where they send animals after they die. Jake had no better place to be than his own back yard.
Therefore I brought him home for his final resting place in the back corner of the yard where I will be able to look out every morning and know that he is still there.
Please keep him in your prayers.
He was not only man's best friend but everyone's best friend...
I dedicate this clip "One Last Breathe" to my buddy "Jake"
He will be missed...............

Tim,
We are so sorry to hear of your loss. We were just talking about Jake with you last week. I know that you gave him a great life and he will be truely missed. Just remember that he enjoyed every minute with you and knew that you loved him. We'll keep you guys in our prayers.

So sorry to hear...
Tim (bouyhunter) and I are both in tears.
It's so sad to let go of one of your kids, and that's what it feels like. You will never forget him as days and years go by. Dogs are a true judge of character and your family shows true love. We lost our good boy last fall, and we still cry about him not being with us. Can't say the missing ever goes away, you just deal with it. You did a beautiful job on the video. God bless your family for loving Jake as much do and as you always will.

Beautiful dog, I lost my 15 year old Chocolate Lab 2 years ago, I got her when I was 17. The most devastating experience of my life. It will get a little easier with time.
Sorry for your loss.

I know you're hurting, but trust me when I say that a new friend will quickly grow on you.
