Default Wow! Saw My First $4+/Gal. Gas on Land!

I drove by a 76 Station today, and they had Premium for $4.14.9 per gallon! That's the first time I have seen gas over $4 per gallon that wasn't at a marina or an airport. That station was located in Brentwood, CA (West Los Angeles) at the corner of 26th and San Vicente.

I've got to think this is going to affect boating for some. Let's say your boat uses 30 gallons per hour. That's almost $125 per hour in gas. That might not be a problem for the guys who can afford big boats, with big power, but for everyone else, it's going to put a dent in either their lifestyle or boating time. Unfortunately, I don't see any breakthroughs coming to extract more fuel economy from boats.

Michael

P.S. To those giving me rides, I absolutely (and gladly) will pitch in to cover these large fuel bills.

Yup, seen this a lot recently here in LA...such a joke. I'll be filling my boat up with 89 octane at Costo before hitting the water.

Keep it out there! Was $2.99/gal today for 87 octane just outside Detroit.

Around 3.10 here in md on land. We already know it will be 4.00 on land, they have warned us it "might" jump up there. Gas on the water will be real tough for lots of folks.
