Gas Price At your marina

I just carried our gas pumps at the marina to places they have never been before ! $4.25 for 89 octane & $4.15 for off-road diesel !

lucky strike 03-11-2008 02:41 PM

$4.09 for 93 in Pompano Beach FL.

Panther 03-11-2008 03:37 PM

Time to buy the bimini top....

Queenie 03-11-2008 03:40 PM

And we won't get in the water until May......is 93 going to be $5.00 a gallon by then? :angry-smiley-038:

Ditto Panther.....need a bimini so we can at least sit on our boat and not get too much sun this summer. :(

Panther 03-11-2008 04:02 PM

Bimini top and this (http://www.tohatsu.com/outboards/2_4st.html) bolted to the swim platform!!!

UNSANE 03-11-2008 04:09 PM

Glad I keep my 87 octane machine on the trailer!!! Costco is my friend. I have changed my boating habits already. Filling up and driving around for 3 hours/partying etc... is now a very rare event and I usually have paying passengers. Usually I put about 40 gallons in it and go beat the crap out of myself for about an hour offshore. This is only happening around once a month, maybe twice

Quinlan 03-11-2008 04:22 PM

Just put 100 gals in mine today at 2.95. On trailer. Still had 50 in it from the fall. I think its going to get Ugly on the water. I sure hope my Portifino had some of the 400 gal left in the tank. Oh well must pay for that stress mgmt!!!
Quinlan

gerritm 03-11-2008 04:29 PM

Around $3.70 for 87 and $3.90 for 89 here in the Galveston Bay area.

obnoxus 03-11-2008 04:34 PM

Its $3,39 for 87 on land here,,,cant wait till summer !!!!

imaginethat38 03-11-2008 07:25 PM

But you get to the hot spot (Claudios up here) and there wont be a place to dock a row boat!!!!!!!!!!

GoFastSonic 03-11-2008 07:34 PM

Panther: I would suggest a anchor shade...it comes down and can be stowed away easy....just in case gas prices go down. On can only hope

We did buy a dinghy this past fall and have one of those already....I honestly didn't think we'd use it more than the Apache.

EVILWAYS 03-12-2008 06:35 AM

If you guys have to cry about the price of gas then just sell yours boats and sit on the beach.

It would be un-American if we didn't cry about it.

Funny coming from someone with eggbeaters.

Knot 4 Me 03-12-2008 10:02 AM

$3.46 on the road here this morning. That will put 89 octane at our local marine at $4.06.

Dean Ferry 03-12-2008 10:16 AM

The Sea-Ray plants here on Meriit Island HAD a total workforce of ~1200 employees, they just laid off 350 employees, :( and are closing one of the plants. Anyone who doesn't think the $ of fuel is going to effect our favorite recreation, is fooling themselves. We will still go boating, probobly more in the Seadoo, and less in the Nordic.
Dean

open87 03-12-2008 10:54 AM

didn't the plant in TN lay off a bunch of people last year?

Macklin 03-12-2008 11:33 AM

I need to get down to my marina and fuel up! I just pulled up their web site and they have unleaded listed at $3.39.

Who wants to bet it won't be that price on Saturday?! :angry-smiley-038:

The boat market around here is as tough as the housing market... so that's not exactly an option either!

I don't think anyone is crying. Just voicing their concern and displeasure about the price of fuel. As was said earlier, I'll still run mine but I don't have to like the price of fuel.

lucky strike 03-15-2008 04:35 PM

open87 03-16-2008 06:05 PM

I don't think I want my boat to be MAINTANDED, maintained would be ok. I would be only interested if the boat had a full tank of fuel...............:D

Tough to find diesel for less than $4 on the street anymore nevermind the water.

Agree, in the big scheme of things the increased prices of oil will hit us more severely in a lot more places than our boat gas, at least for me it will....

Last minute deal...went to Circles today for lunch and to pick up the boat from service and it was cloudy and I was just going to take the boat back home. Came out after eating and it was sunny so I talked Lisa into a gas run. email me your number and this time I will put it in my phone...sorry!

socalstone 03-16-2008 10:00 PM

$3.89/gallon for 93 at Westport Marina on Lake Norman.

cigrocket 03-17-2008 08:38 AM

Diesel is $4.39 at the pump. Gas is till climbing. Hard to say once memorial day hits what gas will be on the water.

BajaRunner 03-17-2008 08:54 AM

I paid almost $7.00/ gal for AV100 Low Lead the other day. Kinda acclimated me for the $4/gallon diesel. :(

Where did you find the 3.89? It's like 4.49 at my marina.
