Default Outerlimits Powerboats - Service with a Smile


In its on-going commitment to complete and total customer satisfaction, Outerlimits Powerboats named Gary Garofalo as General Manager of the service department. Garofalo assumes a role created to oversee the in-house and traveling service team, re-structure the service facility and enhance the operations of the Outerlimits adjunct company.

Those at major events are accustomed to seeing the “Men in Red” actively preparing customers’ boats for Poker Runs and rallies. The 53’ transporter is a billboard for Outerlimits Powerboats, but is also the traveling workshop and retail center for the company’s apparel line, parts and accessories. However, the company also operates a full-service, 22,000 s.f. service center nearby its Bristol, RI factory.

“Service has always been our top priority, right along with delivering the best powerboat on the market,” says Mike Fiore, owner and president of the 15-year old company. “The service department had grown to the point that we needed to make it an even more smoothly operating facility which handles a wide range of work.”

Garofalo has held Mercury Outboard and Mercruiser Technician Certification for over 25 years, but used his insurance designation, Kent State University degree, and racing experience to segue into service management. The winner of Regional, National and World Championship APBA titles was also responsible for sales at one of New England’s largest Mercedes Benz dealers. Garofalo brings operational and management expertise to Outerlimits and plans to expand the company’s capabilities within the current service facility.

“We have a talented and hard-working team here,” says Garofalo, “Each is dedicated to doing the best job for Outerlimits customers both in and outside of the shop. We ask a lot of our techs, but they truly enjoy what they do, or they wouldn’t be working at Outerlimits!” he adds.

The service department is in the process of an on-going training program that will include Mercury certification and finely honing skills specific to performance boating. However, the Outerlimits service department is not limited to its own brand. All types of boats up to 60’ are welcomed to the facility which includes the complete service of engines, drives, rigging, fiberglass, paint, interior and upholstery, electrical and entertainment systems, and weatherization. Climate controlled, insured storage is also available.

“Exceeding customer expectations continues to be our goal,” says Fiore, “We believe Gary will play an invaluable, on-going role with our current customers and will build excellent long-term relationships with our new ones. He is a total professional and we look forward to the new dimensions he will add to our existing service department.”

The Outerlimits Service Department is located at 59 Ballou Boulevard, just blocks from the factory. Shop hours are 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM but Outerlimits is on call, 24/7 with a mobile unit and with emergency service when necessary.
