Default Looking to buy

Im new to this site. Im looking to get into a boat this summer. my last boat was a Grady White 190 Tarpon when I was a kid. Going to be boating in LI sound. Have 2 kids 6 and 4 yrs old. Im looking in 26-30 range with some speed and accomodations, more so a day boat rather than cruiser. Any input would be helpful thanks.

Give us a little more.

Price Range? Twin Engine or Single? Outboard or Inboard? Year Range? Where are you going to use it?

If you are looking for a center console type boat, based on your previous Grady, you could step into a new or near new 32' Donzi w/ twin 250s+ for that money. Bigger is definitely better in LI sound.
I don't know if you are looking for a cruiser, fish boat or performance boat.

If looking for something in the "go-fast"...

http://www.offshoreonlyclassifieds.c...o20580-en.html

I wish I could've jumped on this one...just a bit out of my price range.
Great ride, tons of freeboard for the little ones, & a good size cabin....
Good Luck with your search...

My friend has one of these. It's a great boat. Call Passport Marine in Norwalk. They are the local dealer and probably have the inside line on many used 280's.

I have two neighbours with the 330ss, neither one is very happy with the ride in choppy water let alone 3-5's or bigger. Does the 280ss ride better?

I dont know if the ride would be better than the 330ss. I was thinking of the quality of formula and the practicality of speed and comfort for kids. All suggestions welcome thanks
