Default How to sell a Documented boat

I have no idea what the process was when I bought it.

Is there a title on a documented boat or is the title the documentation itself?

I owe money so does the bank actually have title or not? I cant remember.

uscg web site is very helpful. Explains everything. You will need to go there to get the proper documents.

If the boat is documented, it has a certificate of documentation - THAT is the title for the boat. And just like a car title, on the back is an area for buyer and seller to fill out to transfer ownership. It then has to be sent into the vessel documentation center so they can record the change of ownership and issue a new certificate if you choose. If you are the buyer and are not going to document it, you need to still send it in and also request a letter of deletion from the CG. They will then send you a title and abstract (for a small fee) and you are then free to register it with your local state.
