Sunday Boating

Anyone Boating In Clear Lake Or Lake Conroe On Sunday?

THLWL 03-29-2008 09:44 PM

We were out today in Clear Lake. Big water in bay was sweet! If we go out tomorrow, I'll look for you. Tommy

insanity342 03-29-2008 09:55 PM

Hey Tommy What's Up Man?

THLWL 03-29-2008 10:27 PM

We'll need to watch the weather tomorrow. Come up in to Taylor Lake if you get down here. My house is at about 11 o'clock when you come in to the lake.

insanity342 03-29-2008 10:46 PM

Is The Weather Going To Be Bad?

insanity342 03-29-2008 10:47 PM

What Motors Do You Have In Boat And What Is The Size And Speed?

THLWL 03-29-2008 10:48 PM

Just watched the weather on news. Maybe rain in afternoon. Are you pulling down or already here?

today was nice, the bay was only maybe 2'ers. I ran to Todds dump and back between 60 and 70mph.

gerritm 03-31-2008 10:07 AM

We ran to Top Water. Nice, maybe 2 footers until you got around April Fool point and they got up to 3's. Nice run. I am getting a little tired of the wind, though, it doesn't seem to end this year. Hope it all calms down before the Shootout. Where and what is Todd's Dump?

Todd's dump is right off of April fools point. Its and under water shell obstruction. Its marked with the first marker just off the point.

your right the water did get a little rougher around the point but we turned around to eat lunch at Outriggers.Guess e should have went to Top water.

Like in August when we will be raying for a breeze again.

Guess I should have made the trip when the phone rang yesterday morning.

Anyone going out next weekend? I hear my stepdad may be out in the old excalibur. If I go maybe we can make a run to top water. He never likes to get out in the bay. Maybe I'll build a motor and make a deal with him as boat partners.

Is that the big wooden pole that is right off the point? That is my marker to turn and run into Top Water. I always stay to the outside. I can't seem to ever get into Outriggers on weekends, very limited boat parking and going into the channel on the side at low tide makes me nervous, supposed to be some rocks on the opposite side.

Give me a call if you guys go out, we try to go somewhere on Sundays if the weather is good. I will PM you my phone.

Thats the one..Atleast thats the one that is on my chart where it says Todd's dump.

Outriggers is pretty hard to get into on the weekends:(I was talking to the owner yesterday and he said they are getting ready to add another 190' of dock and dredge the channel so you can get in and out very easily. Also said they have alot planned since Seabrook beach club closed.

I'll give you a shout next time im out. Gotta get the starter issue fixed.

I think you guys are talking about this spot. It looks like you should stay on the inside of the post/marker

It doesn't make sense that you should be that close to the bank, but you will regret it if you don't! Todd's Dump has claimed some boats!

TopSpin80 03-31-2008 09:15 PM

I belive I may have photos of some torn #6 skegs and some "scuffing" on the bottom of a 36 skater.

You learn something new every day. i was told to hug the wooden marker pole with the sign on it to the outside, I always go tight to it. It sure looks like there is better water to the inside. I have been told that at lower tides that inside the marker can be shallow. Now I am confused. I have a track marked on my GPS that I follow.

What i really have a problem with is all the white pvc poles marking stuff. Way to hard to see at speed and the glare. Atleast paint them red or yellow or something.

What's under the pvc marker poles?

BY U BOY 04-01-2008 02:44 PM

No idea...Maybe sunk boats or just shallow water, oyster reefs. I just stay away from them. Now i do know that just south of April fool point there is an old barge that is under water that is marked with a bunch of those poles.:angry-smiley-038:

It seems like more and more poles are popping up each year:(
It would be nice to see the core come thru and clean some of that stuff out or atleast correctly mark it.

gerritm 04-01-2008 03:28 PM

I was told they mark oyster beds and that as long as you don't hit the marker you will be okay.
