Have a buddy looking for one. Any help would be appreciated.

There's always quite a few of them for sale on e-bay- might be a decent place for him to start looking for one that he could pick up cheaply.

Check out sterndrive engineering. They sell an alpha replacement dirt cheap like $1100 complete. We put one on a buddies boat last year, it fit just like merc, and he hasn't had any problem behind a 400+ hp small block. This guy loves to race jetboats from a deadstop too:eek:. They have a 3 year warrantee no matter what the power too.

I have a complete Alpha set up from the inner plate to the prop shaft Gen 1, lets make deal

SEI lower is $795 brand new. Made somewhere other than USA I think,but unbelievable no fault warranty.Used several,no issues at all,lots cheaper than rebuilt and they are brand new.
