Who would build this?

After a weekend in St. Pete with the Edock boys, im pretty sure the sunsation will be sportin a "for sale" sign shortly.. But I cant find anything in the classifieds that matches what Im lookin for.. I shared a beer with Randy Scism and he didnt seem real thrilled about my idea of a 32 MTI with bravos..haha..

My new ride (if i could find one like this) would be as follows:
a 32-34' cat.

It would need to be a centered front seat with shoulder to shoulder seating to share poker run driving with a throttleman but stil be able to be driven by one person. No canopies. A full Port to Starboard roadster style screen. A four person shoulder to shoulder back seat with buckets at floor level.

Full analog instrumentation, no fancy GPS. A mild stereo with a sub and amp, no TV screens or anything.

Heres the tricky part. Id want 525's with XR's. Being it would only be a 32 or 34' boat, 525's would carry it well past the beginners safety zone..

But I cant find anything like this.. If they made something similar, Id probably be pretty interested in it. With a rig like this, you could grow into the boat. You could change out motors and drives in a few years, add some fancy paint, more electronics, etc.. I guess thats the same for any boat but itd be nice to find a quality cat brand new under $200k that would be easier to insure, operate and learn without dropping $300k or more.. I know theres a few used Nortechs, MTI's and Skaters starting to get into that price range but most of them are comin up for $25k rebuilds and need work, plus they are canopy boats with different seating than Id want..

Any ideas? Does anyone know of a company building something like this that I havent seen yet?

Dammm you e-dock guys.

SKATER will build it anyway you want it. They built a 3 place 1/4 canopy canter steer boat a couple of years back.

cheap pr1ck.... save your money for dinner tomorrow.

OL40SVX 04-01-2008 10:06 PM

The 32 Spectre is pretty close to what you want, just not sure on how production is doing now a days. I think the smallest MTI will go is the 36 they just released which is a show stopper!!

Ya, the 36 supercat starts at $400k with 700sci's. I wasted about half a memory card on pictures of the ones they had in st. pete. I dig the windscreen and air intakes on the Nortech's over the MTI's :party-smiley-004:

Having a custom built boat and waiting two years is probably out of my reach. Not sure how the bank would feel about starting that kinda project with me..

100+ all day, every day. It weighs 6k+ lbs and rides like a 36'.

I really like these but I'm not sure they'd be too good in the Atlantic.

I was going to say this as well.

I think there's still one here for sale in NC. I think it's NASCAT.
It's got ilmors I believe, but they are n/a and I think only 625's? I've never met him, but talked in length on the phone about his previous boat when it was for sale by a broker down in Tampa. Went and saw that boat, and it was absolutely perfect condition. Point being he runs a tight ship and keeps his stuff in A-1 condition. Would be the equivalent to brand new.

good luck.

evolutionauto 04-02-2008 07:18 AM

the new 32 Ultra is going to be awesome and just the boat will be in the low 200's with 525's. DW's 32 with just the boat, no paint, trailer, options with his wider pleasure deck cockpit will be in that same range.

I was thinking the same thing, but that back seat isn't quite right, plus 265 may be a bit hi.

Would you consider a 30ft? Predator is making a 30ft (30'6")which is the old AMT mold.
