100 mph at 100 years old

Don't know how to post a link but there is a neat video story on CNN about a man on his 100th birthday drove his son's car at 100 mph, then got in a cat(didn't recognize the brand) and drove it at 100 mph on the water. Very cool video, very cool guy. I envy him. I'm sure someone can post a link.:D

The Gentlemans grandson ( the boat owner) is a poster on Performanceboats.com. When asked about the day, he basically said

"My Grandpa Rocks!"

I would agree. Very cool story.

Now why can't all old people drive fast like him. I cringe whenever I get behind a slow Buick :D

boat211 04-06-2008 10:04 PM

Hello,
My name is Jason Miller. This is my grandfather. The boat was a 36 Skater. It was a great day. Grandpa is amazing as is grandma. She was not real excited about the whole deal. In fact to make it all happen, I had to promise not to go in the boat. That was fine. You all saw the video from CNN I am assuming. There was a few other local stations that covered it. It was a little overwhelming the amount of coverage this thing got.

That is so great that your grandfather can do that. My father who is 71 loves going really fast as well. Last year he did two poker runs with me.

baddogz28 04-07-2008 12:02 PM

^^^ Your dad has good taste in t-shirts.

Got the same one at the boat show a few months back. :)

wrinkleface 04-07-2008 04:54 PM

very cool!

Croozin2 04-07-2008 05:27 PM

Jason, that is a memory that I'm sure will last forever with you and your Grandpa. It's great that many of you share your hobbies with fathers/grandfafthers.

I wasn't as lucky with my dad liking/appreciating my choice of toys & hobbies. All through my racing days (cars & boats) my Dad just couldn't relate. Now that the size of the toys has escalated (along with the cost) all I get out of him now is the compulsory "Oh my aching ass - what have you bought now?":D:D It's cool, I get a kick outta seeing him just shake his head and laugh!!!:D

4mulafastech 04-07-2008 09:13 PM

Very cool! It reminds me back in 1998 I took my 85 year old Grandfather-in-law for a 105mph ride in my 22ft Talon.

This is funny. Even though he has plenty of money, he has always been very frugal. Before the ride I told him he can borrow a pair of wrap around sun glasses to deal with the wind. Well he said, naaaa, I got my own. When he got in the boat he put on what at first I thought were goggles. I look closer and they are safety glasses and for the strap he used an old fruit-of-the-loom underwear waistband!:D He's a great guy...

dykstra 04-07-2008 10:54 PM

Way cool!!!!!!!!! Absolutly awesome

pullmytrigger 04-08-2008 09:25 AM

still gettin' out and gettin' er done at 100!!!.......what a cool old guy!!

looks like he's a vet too......???

Jolley 04-08-2008 12:42 PM

That was so special............. My Brother and I just lost my Dad he would have been 92 on 4/26.......... He got a chance to ride in my Cat and throttled last summer and it was a big thrill for all of us on our lake in michigan ( Cass Lake in Oakland County )

I wish all your family the very best............. Thanks for such a good memory for all ...................:sport009:
