We have pictures of your boat. Don't blame us because you couldn't get your crew to keep their clothes on once you were 1 mile off shore. And because of that we can't share the pictures. :evilb:

oh now u tell me the rules

Kool-Aid Man 04-10-2008 01:18 PM

Is there anywhere on the water you can get 92 octane or do you need to trailer to a gas station...i couldn't find any last season

Yes the East Jordan Municipal Marina has 93 octane. It is on the south arm of Lake Charlevoix.
The BP gas station (on land) in Boyne City has 110 race gas.

Knowing the area i'm suprised that the BP in Boyne has 110...glad to hear about the 93 in east jordan...thought when we get together that thursday before and do some running around l'd have to pull it out and refuel on shore for the run!!

Ah still early I think there is a whole group coming like 5-6 boats

Ona-Mission 04-10-2008 07:13 PM

Part of me wishes I hadn't found this Forum. It sucks to sit in the house and know my boat is still covered in storage. So much of what's on OSO is Winter porn with no chance of physical stimuation. I have needs that can't be filled now. If anyone else feels the same maybe we can start a support group. Is this how an alcoholic feels if they go to the bar?

I speak from personal experience. I have one of the smallest boats, and many others have more $$$ in one motor then my entire boat costs. You will be welcomed. One bit of advice... be prepared for addiction. One run isn't enough!!

organizedchaos 04-10-2008 08:20 PM

The Donzi will be there!!!!!

There is a oval race track over at Boyne Falls and a lot of the cars burn 110.
Also the Boyne City Police Department organizes drag races out at the airport and some of the cars that come to that burn 110.
Also, any boats buying gas at the BP get free ice for there coolers.:drink: I tried to talk them into filling your coolers with beer also but he wouldn't go for that. :evilb:

JB4Boyne 04-11-2008 10:44 PM

You guys must be land lovers:evilb:
Just drop your boats in around Chicago, set your GPS for 45*12'55"N 85*01'10"W
and about 300 miles later you will be here.:drink:

Nykamp 04-12-2008 07:43 AM

Good deal buddy. It sounds like there will be many coming on Thursday. We should all get together for dinner somewhere on the water. Maybe the Landing in Ironton, we could invade the place with some cool hardware.
We have a new Tiki Bar (15'x18') that was donated to us. We could then go back to the marina and crisen that baby:ernaehrung004::drink:

Nykamp 04-12-2008 11:34 AM

Hey JB, look forward to the Tiki bar, me and KEMOSABE and our crew will be there, holding down a picinic table. We may bring a boat to run around with and leave mine set up for a hard run saturday!!

How goes it John/JB? Have you ever had a problem with too many boats wanting to enter? How many boats will Boyne Thunder allow in the run? I just might come up (and possibly others) to make the run this year.

Hi Mark,
We have raised it to 60 boats this year so there is still some room for you. Every year we try and change some things around to make it fresh. This year we have added a Tiki Bar at the Marina and we will also be blocking the main streets off to vehical traffic and we will have boats, trucks, cars, bikes, ect... on display downtown, should be very cool. Come on up:D

Freeryd 04-13-2008 06:35 PM

JB- you make it sound so fun.....did you forget about all that hard work that goes on to prep for this??? all those hours of talking to boaters, looking at boat pics, cleaning your boat, re-cleaning your boat, imagining all the bikini's, cleaning your boat again....and then finally realizing that you cleaned your boat for nothing cuz all those bikini's hang out on boats like Wrinks and YZ's?!?! *****s! oh well, i'm still in, i got nothing better to do i suppose!
Bill

Freeryd 04-13-2008 06:36 PM

This sounds like an incredible time. That part of "the mitt" is about my favorite place in the whole world. My wife's cousin has a place up in Harbor Springs...maybe we could just stay with them for the week and shoot down for the event.

For the past 4 years, I've had a conference that falls on that weekend that I have always attended. But I might just blow it off this year - after all, I've been to Orlando before...and July 11th is my birthday, dammit. :evilb:

I'd also like to go down and hit Torch and the chain for a day. Do they still party on the Sandbar July 4 weekend?
