Difficult decision
I have a norwegian boat, that can run 70 mph,it is 24 ft and is very good also in rough water.I want to buy a new bigger boat, but can't decide the type of the boat. The cruiser like Formula 350 Sun Sport with diesels would be one alternative.Wot is about 53 mph.The other choice would be Fountain 38 Lightning with 496ho or diesels and Arneson drives.I like the speed and rough water handling and the family (wife and two small kids) would appreciate space and conveniences, but the final decision is mine. The fuel economy is also important.I have come in my studies as far, that either one is the choice. No further manufacturers.Model can be other ,but manufacturer is either one.I donīt expect, that all the criteria can be found in one single boat and one must make a compromise. It is obvious, that the more extreme boat, more I run by myself.
Isnīt it so,that if you buy a cruiser, you get bored and maybe you buy next a performance boat and vice versa. You are satisfied only short time and you want to change and begin to plan a new boat.Changing comes expensive and it is maybe more economical to buy a little more expensive(=effective and big enough) boat, but at length it becomes cheaper per year regarding to depreciation,if you can be satisfied with it.

Buy a lakehouse, and 3 boats -one for entertaining, one for fishing, and a go-fast............................and never look back.

In Europe diesel is cheaper than gas. Formulas reselling value is much better in diesel and thatīs the point.
