Default Fuel fill change, how difficult is it?

I'm thinking of changing my fuel fill to a flush billet type like Trick, Eddie, Dana, etc. all offer. It would be simply for the bling factor. Something like the link below shows. I'm pretty new to working on boats and mine's not available to look at now, but I'm wondering if this can be done easily with the boat in the water or if it's a much more involved job. Has anyone ever switched theirs and is this something that I would need access behind the bulkhead to do? Seems like the fuel line would hook to the new fill somehow. Is there usually play in the fuel line, i.e. if I remove the current fill unit can I pull it and the fuel hose out to change it? Any help would be appreciated, if it's a major hassle I'll can the idea. Thanks!

Just did mine. Real easy job 3 bolts 2 hose clamps. The old bolt holes even lined up. Just make sure you seal the bolt holes.

Cool, great news, thanks. So once the 3 bolts are removed the existing unit will pull out so the fuel hose can be switched?

I just tried to pull mine because I was having a vent problem and could not get it out. I have no idea how I would do the job if I had to. You have to reach up through some access holes to pull the hoses and clamps and I could'nt reach. I tried just pulling it out and it wouldn't come out with the hoses attached. Maybe I just gave up too easily, but it looks tough. My 22zx is a few years older than yours, so yours may be different.

Thanks for checking that out Rene, I appreciate it. I'll have to see if I can get access from within the cockpit, I'm think there's an access hole in the bulkhead but I'm not sure.
