dumb question...anybody really know where it came from? I've read here and other places that its a stretched/widened 28 Skater, cut down 32 Skater, Jay built it ground up, etc etc

Not sure, I did have the pleasure of getting a ride on a friend of a friend's 30 spectre with twin 2.5 merc obs and it was an awesome set up. Handeled great topped out around 100 mph and handeled the 3' ers we were in with no troubles.

I had a 30 with 496's and XR's. Would run 98mph and had 5 years of warranty on the motors and drives. Perfect turn key poker run boat.

Dont know for sure but will add another idea into your list. 30 Motion with a different deck. Jay was apart of Motion at one time.

yeah that was on the list I just didn't type it out, or then I'd have to ask where the Motion came from too

The Motion and Spectre are different. I have seen the wood / bondo plug for the Spectre before.
