Gave mine away. I've never seen a boat depreciate that fast.

wananewboat 04-12-2008 08:13 PM

Don, sorry to hijack thread, but what are you going to be racing this year?

Dean

Concept 04-13-2008 09:03 AM

NEW 32' FOR $85k "this is the deal" someone looking for a 32' does not buy this, they are not a buyer.

DollaBill - what 32' did you have? Where did you get it?

Concept 04-13-2008 10:24 AM

Denny - call the boat mnfr you were dealing with that wants to purchase a boat for his wife and mentioned this Burgandy 32' - don't wait till Monday if you have his cell or send this link to him.

Don - there is another member here named "driven1" I think, I'm so overwhelmed these days, if you don't find it, I will take the time. It is not exactly what he wants, but surely he would be interested. I let my membership go here in an effort to just stay off it, so I can not e mail. Good Luck.

FeverMike 04-13-2008 08:41 PM

Don, Driven 1 checks this forum so you might want to PM him.

boating37 04-13-2008 10:05 PM

Don that's is the guy who I hooked you up with a few weeks back with.

Spicy 04-14-2008 08:46 AM

32

This boat is a year older, completely different set up, a solid paint job and T-top is approx 7K less money from the start, not to mention MM had customizing done with Electronics and interfacing special gauges etc.

Any way to swap out the 250s for the 300 verados and pay the difference? That is a great price on a 32 and the color is very classy looking. I would just rather have the newer generation verados. I could live with the t-top compared to the arch at the price you are selling it for. Also do you know if the front jump seats are the smaller ones or the bigger ones that come with the boats that are built now? Thanks Mike

had a new, '07 32 Sport w/ 250 Verados. Bought it at dealer cost (dlr to dlr trade - I wasnt Concept dealer at the time of course). Dropped 27K in 90 days........

32 Trade

Are you the one that traded a Fountain that had damage for the Shogren 32'?

So has this boat done it major depreciation already? I would think at 85k you could use it for a year and sell it for around that a year later.

Concept 04-14-2008 03:02 PM

Mike, there is a reason if he lost 27K and that is the boat I think it is....his comment was nasty and uncalled for because he knows why he lost money.

A. Damage is a strong word. Trust me, no one wants me to air that out here. Nuff said.

B. What the hell does that have to do with anything???

Okay do not know anything about his boat or the deal that went along with it.

DollaBill 04-14-2008 03:10 PM

I know why I lost money??? Because I had the boat advertised for 90 days here and yachtworld and through another source and had no buyers. That boat was "new". One has nothing to do with the other.

You should know there are two sides to every story. Have fun

DollaBill 04-14-2008 03:11 PM

Now I'm wondering.... Was there a specific reason I lost money on that boat? It was a brand new boat. Was there something I wasn't told about that boat? Thats what you are suggesting.

You're going on 3rd and even 4th party statements. Be careful. And, again, it's got nothing to do with the price of the boat which you're trying to deflect.

36skater 04-14-2008 03:48 PM

Dean - I am going to race my 36' Skater in P-1 class. It has been sitting in my shop for the last few years and I got the fever to race again this year.
As far as my 32' goes, this boat is an absolute steal. The price is a reflection of myself needing more room in my shop to work on my Skater and to get ready for the season.
I will always own a Concept and a Skater - I feel both boats are perfect for their intended uses.
If I lived in a warm climate area - I would order 10 new Concepts tomorrow. Hope to order a new 44' next year.
Any way you shake it - Concept is a top quality builder.
Thank you
Don Holtz

wananewboat 04-14-2008 04:00 PM

Don, good luck in P-1 I hope you do well. I still love the 36 and someday I hope we can do business. That 32 should move quickly it looks like a great deal.

FeverMike 04-14-2008 07:01 PM

DollaBill, well now you gotta tell your story. You can't leave us hanging like that.:D Everyboat I have had has tanked in price but not like boats are doing today. I spend money on boats that is for sure but boats were something I lived and breathed for at the time so I just bought and sold/traded.

My 1998 26 Scarab I kept for 2 years lost 20% in 2 years . My 2000 29 Fountain lost around 25% in 2 years. My 36 Concept I had for almost 2 years lost 30% with 120hrs on it. I sold it for what other 2004's were going for at the time.

Other than that I have to say that T-Top on this dark red 32 is the best looking t-top around. I think I like it better than the arch. Althought the arch is cool since you can fold the top up for full sun or bring it out for shade.

Maryland Mark is going to cry when he see's the price on this boat. I know Mark's boat has some other options and faster engines but the cost to upgrade from 250 Verado's to 300XS is only around $18k and wasn't Mark's boat like $50k more than this 32?

I wish I could trade my 38TE Fountain for this 32 Concept!

boating37 04-14-2008 07:15 PM

I would love to here what went on with Dollabii's boat.I had to go back and read this thread twice to see if I was missing something. So can you fill us in?

Concept 04-15-2008 07:32 AM

DollaBill - you made a statement that the reason you lost money was because it was a Concept - if you did not intend the statement to mean this, then it insinuated it and should be corrected. There was no problem with the boat, and both parties were under the impression each was getting a good deal. Your trade ended up being sent to Fountain and you immediately put the 32' for sale that you "thought" you purchased for dealer cost.
And by the way -
If you are a dealer, you are entitled to purchase a personal boat direct from Concept. If there is a dealer near you, that dealer is entitled to be consulted if any profit should be made; however, usually, they will do a courtesy sale.
Anyone that knows me here...knows my only downfall may be too much honesty and always putting all cards on the table.
And, what happened in that deal has everything to do with the price of that boat, so it is you that needs to be careful.
Do not affront Concept or I will call you out.

Concept 04-15-2008 07:36 AM

His story is private. And, why I personally do not like these forums. They should be to help people meet up and get opinions of boat lines.

Mike - It is more than 18K on engines. The arch is a few thousand more, the graphic MM choose was several thousand more, electronics and additional items that he wanted. Of course this is not a good deal on Don's boat, it is A GREAT deal, he is loosing thousands on this boat to get rid of it. Don knows partially why this boat has not sold also. Not only is it become a buyers market, but Don and Laura are two of the nicest people I have ever met, and Don is not only not aggressive, but before he put that boat away for the winter, told a client that was seriously interested in the boat, "not to worry, no one is going to buy this boat in the next few months of winter, come and see it when you get a chance". He was in Calif, you got that guys number Don?

DollaBill 04-15-2008 10:06 AM

Call me out?!!!!!!!!!!!!! Call me out?!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am one of the most public people on OSO. Get it.

Again, this has nothing to do with the other deal. A few people that can crush you and this thread were present for the entire transaction on the other deal. Someone please enlighten Mr. Concept. I'm not saying anything about that because I still haven't decided whether I'm going to pursue ssomething with that or not.

This is about a Concept. Stop hiding behind other BS. Fact is the boat depreciated. I didn't say I didn't like the boat or it was a bad boat. What relevance does putting it up for sale have to do with anything?

Leave it alone at this point.

Cash Bar 04-15-2008 10:29 AM

I'm not sure the one thing has anything to do with the other.

Point is, that 32' that DollaBill had was a tough sell. It was a nice boat, and seemed built well, but it still was a tough sell. I don't think what a boat "sold" for has anything to do with a trade made months before.

Might wanna let this one go.......

Concept 04-15-2008 10:33 AM

You don't know me and I won't allow you or anyone to crush me or Concept unless we deserve it.
You started this with an inuendo that your loss was because the product was a Concept.
You purchase a boat, or a car, you drive it off the lot, you just lost 20% on anybodys product because it is now a used product. I do not get my story 2nd hand, you rushed to make the sale and the new owner could not get paperwork from you because Shogren would not release it and I was not allowed to duplicate for the new owner. When you purchase a boat, it shows up on e-bay a short time later, I guess you will loose some money. And, by the way...it's Ms. Concept

And, Don - I have not meant to cause harm to this man; however, you know that I have been with Concept since infancy and when I pulled a boat behind me to set up a dealer network 12 years ago, no one knew what one was even a 100 miles from my plant. I will defend our name but would be nice to just delete this entire confronting thread unless Mr Dollabill would like to continue to joust. Or, sir you may call me...I hide behind nothing 888-635-8712

DollaBill 04-15-2008 10:44 AM

Again, and for the last time, it is about a Concept Ms. Concept. You are the one making a stew of the story. There is NO reason to bring up other names or issues.

I think you missed the point. It started as a resale issue. I'm done beating my head against a wall with you. You refuse to address what I said about RESALE value.

I'm done. Happy Boating :)

DENNYB 04-15-2008 11:05 AM

I see what you mentioned in post #28.
Ms.Concept was addressing the resale of your boat and why it was not good.
She was very offended that you insinuated that, its because of the product. Its her lively hood to support her family..

Concept 04-15-2008 11:11 AM

This thread has been hi-jacked long enough...we apologise Don and after you sell this boat, which should be soon at that price. Please delete this thread.

DollaBill 04-15-2008 11:15 AM

I said at least twice it wasn't because of the quality or performance. My problem is her mixing up apples and oranges regarding boat deals. One has NOTHING to do with the other. And, she has NO business bringing up other deals, mentioning names or giving her opinion when she knows only one side of the story.

BTW, it was a NEW, MSO boat, not a used boat. We are talking price issue here.

Again, I'm done. I can't keep repeating the same thing over and over and over.

DollaBill 04-15-2008 11:16 AM

Hijacked?????????????????????????????????????????? ???????????????????

Someone asked a question about the value of a boat. I told them my experience regarding value. How is that a hijack?

Concept 04-15-2008 12:40 PM

Did not say you hijacked the thread. I did... when defending your statement of Concept Boats Resale sucks. And, I stand by every post I made above that your "resale" value had everything to do with the initial deal and the boat going for a quick deal so soon after.

Now, you said you were done; however, if you are not, you may call me if you think I am under the wrong impression.

DollaBill 04-15-2008 01:13 PM

I'll post whenever I want. Trust me. If you and I didn't discuss the other deal and the details surrounding it that leaves one conclusion........... You have one side of the story, correct???

Now I'm done. I talk to more people on here in one month than you've talked to in 5 years. This thread has gone on long enough I think.

Concept 04-15-2008 01:30 PM

LOL - now..this is funny.

I've actually posted more on this one thread than I've posted in 5 years and I'm rather proud that I have a life..thank you.

And if you want to end this stop posting here and don't let me catch you disparaging Concept ever or if you do, cover your genitals!!

DollaBill 04-15-2008 01:38 PM

lol. we'll see. Catch me disparaging concept huh? If you would read my comments (for the 5th time) you would see I was saying anything negative against the boat except its resale value.

this will be good. You picked the wrong fight. Nice threat though. And, I didnt mean talk to online............

Maybe this thread should be moved to General Discussion so 50,000 members can read about Concept

Concept 04-15-2008 01:51 PM

"except it's resale value"
and that is what this is about oh mighty powerful one.

DollaBill 04-15-2008 01:57 PM

:). Keep laughing

Concept 04-15-2008 02:06 PM

OK...you too!
