The helmet is for small bird strikes and other bugs. at 100mph no helmet a bee can really hurt. You might try the MAUI SKYDIVING SCHOOL out on the islands. A friend I use to hang with alot in the 80s/90s we use to fiy a lot on weekends to MV on the cape and fly just off gayhead and south beach if there were no people around and buzz the beach and cliff. He use to be a partner at the school and spent winters there before he got killed. but he died trying to land a new shute design. The school might be able to set you up with the suits and chute.. and if you go out there on va ka look them up and try piggy back sky diving and they make a cool dvd of you too. at his service we watched a few of the dvds he was in . so you go free falln in for a few minutes instead of static line which opens in 3seconds. art

I would so do that before I'd just "jump" off a cliff.

There is a guy by the name of Jeb Corlis who has done a bunch of work with the wing suit and is going to attempt to land without a shute. He is going to jump from a plane at about 10000 ft and attempt to land by flying in his wing suit to the ground, where he will land without the aid of a shute. He will be using a ramp to land on. Saw it on the Today Show a few weeks ago. The jump is coming up soon. Should be able to find it on the net somewhere.
