question for anyone who can help..
 

Ok guys.. I fel stupid asking this. but when I am crsuing in my boat at say 45-50 or so . and I over take someone.. I kinda feel like the boat I am in will rock and rool over on its side.. not sure why I fell this way.. my frined has 21 ft Cobalt and over takes them the same way.. feels the same to me but he has no quams about it.. he says I have nothing to worry about and that that is what I am doing.. stating that is very hard to roll a boat onto its side at speeds slower than 70 or so miles an hr.. is he full of s^^^t..

my boat is a 22 ft Mirage Intruder.. I thinkit has a deep stepped hull as well..

It could be the drive is too low, you may help this by trimming up, or even get tabs or kplanes if you have tabs, the X dimension is the height of the drive, if it is sticking too low it can raise the stern and feel tippy. Cheaper than raising the drive is a shorter lower, or shorty, it brings the drive up. I get this with my boat, when it is trimmed down I can feel the stern get squirrely, when I trim up is settles down. Any boat can flip at almost any speed when on plane given the right conditions, somethims they all come together and cause things to happen that may never happen on its own. This is just my take, I could be off, I don't know everything about your boat.

Some good points here...also..confidence and getting to know what your boat can and what you should not be doing in that situation. Enjoy and use your boat as much as you are able to or afford, as time goes by I believe you will feel more at ease on making maneuvers when over taking another vessel, where you need to be on his wake. wakes give you a wierd rolling feel, give them more angle and throttle.

I found that accelerating through the wake, minimizes the roll.

my nephew has this problem on a newer 24' Everglades CC, it wants to toss people out... turns out the dealer rigged a 30" Verado, instead of a 25", just to make the sale and get it out the door, even on the top hole, it's 3" too deep in the water... dealer has been unresponsive... :(

You can also "drive" through that situation, as the boat rolls to the left you can steer to the right a little and vise versa. When you make a turn in a v-bottom say to the right the boat lays over to the right. I hope I'm making sense. You will have to feel out how much input to give the boat in different situations.

Sounds like you aren't taking enough of an angle on the approach to the wake. Try to cut them between 0 and 45 deg. thereby going over them rather than along them, if that makes sense...

x 2. Accelerating to get the hull hooked up will help as well.
