House Committee Passes Clean Boating Act of 2008; Senate Committee to Vote on Bill Tomorrow!
Last week, the U.S. House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee voted unanimously to approve passage of the Clean Boating Act of 2008 (H. 5949), introduced by Representatives Steve LaTourette (R-Ohio) and Candice Miller (R-Mich.). This action officially paves the way for the bill's consideration by the full House of Representatives.
On Wednesday, May 21, the Senate Environment & Public Works Committee (EPW) is marking up the bill on the Senate side (S. 2766). EPW is comprised of 19 members from the following states:
California
Connecticut
Delaware
Georgia
Idaho
Louisiana
Maryland
Minnesota
Missouri
Montana
New Jersey
New York
Ohio
Oklahoma
Rhode Island

Vermont
Virginia
Wyoming
NMMA is calling upon everyone in the industry and all our industry partners to engage on this issue before it's too late! We urge you to contact Representatives and Senators on the EPW Committee and encourage them to vote "YES" on S. 2766.
