They are great as long as they don't have wing nutsif they do keep extra ones on the boat

latham, whole lid screws off easily, screen lifts out no fuss no muss. Got stuck at kent island once, all the lines were packed..what a pita.

I have Stainless Marine Super Strainers. They are huge, to hold water in reserve while airborne and have pressure relief valves to eliminate pressure spikes from re-entry. Extremely well built, I can stand on them. Kind of pricey, about $900 each I think.

I have a pair of stainless marine big strainers new removed 350 a piece.
