Make sure there is no hook in the hull. Remove it if there is. You could try adding some rocker at the stern as well, but it will be an experiment and handling may suffer.

Well, a Google search of a Fletcher Zingaro brings up THIS hull.

Dude, if this is what you're working with, you should be pretty happy...

Like I said before rocker plates will help with this.

Look at arneson's web page, they make them.

I still have a feeling that your tach is off. A 23 p prop @ 1:1 ratio has to have almost no slip for it to push your boat 60MPH @ 3000 RPM.

I would have someone check the RPM manually to cross check the gauge. I've seen a lot of sloppy tach's over the years

The hull is simialr to the one above (without the cabin). I'm going to have the taco checked tomorrow, I have already checked the hull for hook and there is no hook. I might add some rocker to the hull as rocker plates are very expensive, might also extend the chines as they are only 3 inches wide.
Has anyone got any ideas on how to add some rocker?

And guys thanks again, I really appreciate the help and comments

Regards

Gerard

If thats the the type of hull you have, be happy with your speed. I won't get much better.

Making a boat go "faster" is one of the most expensive things you can do if you are at all considering relativity and/or ROI. Typically $1,000 per mph give or take. And of course the more speed you add, the price starts to double, tripple, etc. If you like the boat open the wallet and have fun!!

If your boat is like the one in the pic, I am impressed with the speeds. I think you will be hard pressed to do much better.
