Sometimes seeing is believing engines rock steady and solid spinning bravo 1 32 pitch test props to the limiter at 86mph. New secret five blade props coming hopefully this week if we can spin them where hoping to see 90mph plus!!!! I've run the boat approximately 50hours this season and the only issues I had was chopped up black hydraulic hose in the fuel cell from a hack rigger who was pissed the boat got pulled from them cause they couldn't swap two motors in 5.5 months other then that motors have been a dream.....

As you can see motors barely flinch cruising at 80mph!

That thing trims out nicely. I am new to OBs as of this year. I am loving them. Would be hard pressed to go back to I/O again. Although I do miss the sound of my big block, my Optis have an evil sound to them when up around 5,000 RPM and up.

Gear ratio and rpm will limit the speed to about 90 mph at best.

90mph basically is my goal anything over that would be a extra treat. Going into this repower I knew I would lose some speed although I just wasn't sure how much. My goal is for now to see if I can get 90mph and still have the every day reliability I'm hoping for. So far in my opinion the stock motors are living up to my expectations, but time will tell........ I mean form what Ive been told boat with 300x's on it ran right about 100mph roughly. So a 10mph loss with more efficiency and reliability is exceptable to me unfortunately for me and I'm speaking from my personal experience I just don't see a lot of reliable black motors but hey that's just me and squeezing that extra ten mph could be why.........

Let there be no mistake at Sunday's CT River run with at least 20 to 30 boats in attendance along with some of LI's most colorful characters. Boats ranging from Big Clown Racing high powered 40' Skater, Activators, Joey "I'll rob you" Imprescias throttling in a 30' Spectre driven by Tommy "the tool bag" with 300xs Mercs to a plethora of SOB's powered by 300x Merc's. As Joey throttled up first and swept the field from right to left in a attempt to hose myself and slow the field into the channel almost killing Eric from Accurate marines 16 year old daughter. Myself a a young man driving the props off a 21' Activator with 300x power gave chase for approximately 10 miles in which the infamous throttle man and his protege tried everything to lose the ETEC powered Progression as we pulled further and further from the pack apparently Chris the midget owner of BIg Clown Racing gave the rear a show by failing to responsibly navigate a well marked CT River an runnig his new to him 40' Skater aground at full throttle affectavly securing his place in the I've never succefully completed a CT River run. Long story short the ETEC motored 27' Progression driven and throttle by me where only slightly inched out by Mr. imprescia and Tommy the tool bag making for a very embarrassing day for Merc Joey Imprescia Tommy tool bag and the rest of the Big Clown Racing crew.......
